Do not break glass, there is no emergency.) Praise for Tactical Space Command: "Tactical Space Command is all about substance... TSC is a uniquely complex game on iPad, one that is very rewarding." [4 out of 5 stars] — Kelsey Rinella, Pocket Tactics [also named one of Pocket Tactics' Games of the Month for September 2013] "...deep, rich, and complex..." — Tom Slayton, MobileTechReview "...almost overwhelming in terms of both depth and reward." — Matt Sainsbury, Digitally Downloaded About the game: Tactical Space Command (TSC) is an abstract space combat command simulation where you are in command of a fleet, delegating orders to the ships and task forces under your command and monitoring your fleet's progress via a combat Information system style interface. TSC includes a variety of scenarios with different challenges for the player, but the basic goal of the game is to capture all enemy planets and asteroids while defending your own from attack. In the game, you can: • Organize ships into task forces and assign formations. • Give a wide range of orders to your task forces and independent ships. • Promote and assign officers to command your ships, stations and task forces (or let the computer handle that for you). • Allocate planetary production to build ships and defense stations. • Customize your research focus. • Capture enemy planets and asteroids while defending your own from enemy assault. • Interdict enemy shipping to cripple enemy production while protecting your own shipping from attack. • Customize event notifications to keep track of game events. • Create your own custom scenarios and share them with other players. TSC takes full advantage of high resolution displays to deliver sharp vector graphics, and includes an option for an alternate color palette for red-green colorblind players. It also includes a tutorial, gameplay tips and help for every screen and selection to help ease beginning players into the game. Others have said it resembles the old Harpoon naval sims, and it does. I loved those games and spent many hours with them. Early days but I love it so far. Reminds me also of the old Space Empire games, especially SEIII. ojtitus Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2010 3,228 5 38 Male Canton, Ohio #7 ojtitus, Sep 18, 2013 Last edited: Sep 18, 2013 Looks ok, I might check it out somewhere down the line as I already have quite a few 4X games, even though this one lacks the exploring factor. iPadisGreat Well-Known Member Dec 10, 2012 2,390 0 0 #8 iPadisGreat, Sep 18, 2013 Harpoon? I suppose the main takeaway is that the game is really complex and not nearly as accessible as we'd like, but we're working on improving that as well as we can, and seeing more people play it really helps us identify the weak spots in the tutorial and/or learning curve in general, so this is really valuable for us. Also, it does look like you found the same bug other people have reported (i.e., the ship not moving to the asteroid but going to the top left of the screen instead); as much as finding a bug that major slip through testing makes my teeth hurt, we should have a fix submitted to the app store this weekend (see http://www.lensflare.com/support.html for status). Overall I didn´t had at any Moment a bad feeling about the Game otherwise I would have stopped playing it and just went straight to the next One and didn`t take the time to upload the Gameplay Trailer. You are right about that the Tutorial still needs a few tweaks here and there but it`s nothing that can`t be done and a few more Weeks/Months can here probably turn around the hole "I don`t know what the hell I`m supposed to do" to "I`m ready to conquer the hole Galaxy" after playing the Tutorial. And after that you can expand the Content of Tactical Space Command itself but first the basics like the Tutorial or overall the Core Gameplay Mechanics itself need to be 100% bulletproof. Tactical Space Command isn`t a bad Game at all but most if not all Games in the Genre it does fit in are more or less WIP over the first couple of Months simple because of the spectrum of features they are getting shipped with it and therefor it does take usually some time to tweak everything. doubt72 New Member Sep 21, 2013 4 0 0 Software stuff Denver http://www.lensflare.com/ #14 doubt72, Sep 22, 2013 Yes, I think everything you say is true, there's still work to do (software development really is hard), but doing my best to improve it as fast as I can.
