Darn it! I'll have to sell my iPhone 5, and wait 4 years for an iPhone 8 just like someone suggested on this thread.
Nothing we can do about it Johnny, you can enjoy the single player experience but co-op is just too much for the ipod 4 to handle.
Really? The iPod 4 only has 256MB of memory, I'd find it difficult to have multiplayer on a device like that with a game like this. They did the same thing with A8.
I'm just going based on what the developer said, that the ipod 4G would be supported. I've been following this thread for a couple years, so if I'm a bit pissed, so be it, no biggie. There are lots of games that have good graphics, that are supported on the 4G. I do know that this is an old device now. I'll be eventually upgrading this Christmas.
Oh, that I didn't know. Guess I'd be a little dissappointed too if I was told something I'd get but didn't Yeah I agree, MC4 has good graphics and still supports multiplayer. It does though right?
Like I said no biggie, In all fairness they didn't actually say the ipod 4G would be supported. This is a quote from a few months ago from one of the developers. I also heard that the 4G, had a few hiccups here and there but I didn't think the device would'nt be supported. The 4G is done for new mobile gaming anyway. Anyway, it's not that big of a deal. It's just a video game and I'll end up graduating to a new device. Mc4 is supported for mp, as well as a great game like Heroes and Castles which is rich in graphics and gameplay. There are some others also.
Yeah the issue is this, iPod4s lack of memory. Gameloft has a great engine but one of the big reasons they can pull off supporting older devices is they don't have as many creatures on screen as we do. I know to the player this may not seem like such a huge deal but it is. If we cut our creature cap in half sure we could run co-op on an iPod4 but then it wouldn't create the experience we were going for. Having a ton of creatures on screen at once at the graphic level ours are AND another player running around shooting constantly with explosions going off etc is a huge memory hog. Sorry if you feel misled based on previous quotes but at the end of the day the device just can't handle multiplayer in our game. Quite honestly it's a miracle we got it to run in single player and easily cost us a couple months of dev time to support it.
Thanks General for the explanation. I know you guys have worked your butts off. I will still purchase the game and play single player on my 4G, until I get a new device at Christmas. I'm glad you guys didn't cut assets to make it viable for the 4G because it wouldn't be the same game and I wouldn't want the game to be easy. (There are far too many easy zombie games on iOS) Rip, I'll probably download the game on my wife's iphone 4S and play mp, look forward to destroying waves of zombies with you and the regulars.
Cool man, I'm glad to hear that. I would have been very disappointed to have to wait for you till Christmas to get some score competitioning going on
Yes, my wife hates it when I download games on her iphone but for Infected wars and forgotten memories, I just have to do it.
lmao, I'm not even going there I'd say nadda, for one, my wife hates zombie games ( I still married her anyway ) and she hates horror games and horror movies ( I still married her anyway )
