If the market could support it and you have the marketing resources to do it, I'd say $6.99 is a great price. If not, $4.99 is fair. Don't lowball it at $.99 or something. Whatever you do, don't make this F2P with timers and dual currency systems and energy meters! I'm fine with having a single currency to upgrade/unlock stuff, with optional IAPs to buy cash. Also I'm perfectly fine with IAPs for new content like maps, characters, new zombies, weapons, etc, in fact you might want to include, say, the campaign plus half the survival maps with the other half as a $1.99 unlock. Just no freemium. Please. I've been looking forward to this for almost a year.
Great feedback, thanks for the response. I will keep you guys posted once we finalize pricing but rest assured it will not be freemium. Get those credit cards ready
I agree with everyone, $6.99 sounds perfect! I'll just buy a $15 giftcard, use $4.99 for the Lego Batman game and save the other $10 for this game!
I think this game looks fantastic enough for a $6.99 price tag, especially considering allll your hard work (props to you guys), but coming in at that price idk if I would pay $1.99 for DLC. If you're going for paid DLC I'd much prefer a $4.99.
Well that isn't the plan. For the full priced game you will get the campaign, co-op, multiplayer, etc. Not to say there won't be ways to spend more money within the game but you won't need to spend anymore money to enjoy it and get the full experience.
General Jah, the people on this thread, including myself would easily pay 6.99 for this game but for selling this game, I believe a price at 4.99 would be your best bet. Generally the iOS market is filled with cheap mobile gamers, who will probably not touch a premium game like this at a 6.99 price. Sad fact but true. Just look at the top paid apps and most top paid games average 2.99 Even if you state that 4.99 is an introductory sale price for a limited time, that will put the word out. I honestly feel you will sell more units at that price point. It doesn't matter how good a game is on the App Store. If the price is 6.99 and above, mobile gamers will generally wait until it goes on sale.
Yes, and even those games don't stay too long on the top paid apps anymore. They only really start to sell when Gameloft puts them on sale for.99 cents. NY zombies 2 which is also a zombie FPS with mp, didn't even hit the top 100 on release. The game itself is pretty good too. Regardless, whatever the price of this game. I will still purchase it.
That's a good idea, but I think combined with a $4.99 intro price for a week that someone else said would be your best bargain for high sales.
We are working 7 days a week day and night to get it submitted to apple by May 1st. Once we talk with them and get a date for release we will definitely let everyone know
Very cool new video up. Real time shadows seem to be available (that'll have to be an instabuy for you JB). And lots more. Controls look to be finished as well. Looking closer and closer to release now. Can't wait, need a new zombie shooter and this one looks like it'll be one of the best. Plus, anything that lets you blow the head right off a zombie has to be worth buying. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Ohhh that is looking very nice indeed, as usual. I'm getting this wonderful Killing Floor vibe. Only one thing: you seem to have a similar death animation system to MC4's; that is, once the HP on a zombie/enemy runs out they just drop to the ground in a full ragdoll effect. Instead of flopping to the ground, how about a death animation for non-explosive deaths, then rolling downhill/interacting with the environment once they hit the ground? Nice to see you again, Rip. Yeah, shadows are certainly a plus in my book, though they're more important to me when a certain amount of immersion Is necessary for a game, a la Forgotten Memories. Here they're just great eye candy Solid framerate is a must here, hopefully there're no issues. UE3 is can be a little unstable in my experience, at least on lower end devices. Edit: scrap what I said about shadows and the "flopping to the ground" stuff. I had only watched the video part way. I got to that tunnel part...this is look beautiful, in a terribly violent way. Really, really nice stuff you got here.
