We are now about half way through 2009, and several good premium games have been released. So which one would you say is the "game of the year" so far?
IMHO paper toss!!!!! The addictiveness, simplicity, polish.....and did I mention price? Gotta love it. First page app now and always for me. BTW I'm not one of those people that don't buy apps. About 8 of my 9 pages are of paid apps. I don't have any of the games in the poll. They are too recent to have a poll on them. I bet nobody here has them all.
1st - Peggle (For pure awesomeness) 2nd - Real Racing (For originality) 3rd - (Pending, I'll see how well Castle of Magic plays) @TMAC - I have them all You could say I'm an addict
Impressive...could you buy a $50 card and tell me the code? I will buy them all if u do? And then I will put you in my signature. I'll put whatever you want. Masmo is the coolest member on TA period. or anything. So that's a deal right? PM me the code thanks. I'll tell you when I redeem the code if it works.
Zenonia most likely. Easily the most hype behind it and that hype wasn't let down. Peggle is something you can already play on PC but Zenonia isn't.
Peggle, RR, NFS and Knights Onrush for producing straight out of the box, iDevice-sentric games. All the others to my knowledge are either in need of an up-date or two (Zenonia, Defender Chronicles) or are in genres that don't lend themselves very well to this device (Assassin's Creed, RE, Castle of Magic).
Dance Dance Revolution Shake, Beatrider, Zenonia and possibly Castle of Magic (judging purely from screenshots for the latter). DDR-S is one of my most played games and is my favourite game of all. I love musical rhythm games and the entire DDR series. Only flaw is that there is no information on how to unlock songs/bonus content anywhere on the web. Still it makes games like Tap Tap Revenge look like a joke. Beatrider is similar, it's better in that it allows syncing of my own songs, however the rhythms created aren't as good as DDR's. Zenonia is my second favourite game so far, and also my most played game. I consider it one of the best games in the app store. Defender Chronicles would be fun but it's way too hard or I'm missing out on some important elements of the game; can't even beat the third stage on easy mode. The fact that units take forever to reappear when upgraded and there are no pauses between stages makes it really tiring to play. Resident Evil is average, it has really bad sound effects and controls are hard to get used to even if used to the GC version of Resident Evil 4. No comment on the racing games because I haven't tried any. Peggle is a total waste of money whether it be $0.99 or $9.99. I would've enjoyed it more if I spent it on a bowl of ice cream.
Agreed, should've definitely made the list. I don't play it too often because I don't find the challenge, but it has the best gameplay. An update would be greatly appreciated, but EA (sigh).
Oh, Assassin's Creed made the list? Well so long as we are including old games re-released for the iDevice I think Ports of Call and Wolfenstein 3D deserve honorable mentions.
I would say my favorite thus far would be X2 Football. Though I have not had a chance to play much of Zenonia yet.
