I saw that too. it's the sound grenade app (was #1). One thing to note is the app is designed oddly, in that one part of the app, the sound is activated and you can't turn it off easily. Except the ad looks like it has a button that might go to options. So you instinctively hit it. I did.

So, I believe a lot of that ad revenue (if true) is generated from unintentional clicks. That's my take on it.

Ah, thanks for explaining. I wouldn't have figured it out since I don't even own the app.

    I tried it, it's bogus...

I have AdMob installed in my Bop-It! Lite app. It's been out now since 1/29/2009. Today, 23 days later I've made a grand total of $56.29. So, I'm not buying that claim.

An extensive study has been done on ad revenue. A summary can be seen here.

I've made $100 in 4 months so $200/hour does sound unrealistic

$200/hour doesn't seem to be correct,Maybe like $25/hour seems to be correct!
Unless you made the ad to look like you need to click it, then it would be true

It depends a great deal on the app. Our games make from 1k to 8k per month depending on the game and the month.

Basically, if your game has a high level of replay value then you can actually make more money from ads than you can from it being a 99 cent game. But if people will use it a few times and then never touch it again then ads really aren't going to make you any money.

It also depends a great deal on which ad network(s) you use. Greystripe can get you a much better eCPM, but then the ads are much more intrusive than AdMob banners. We actually have both in our games.

What pisses me off is ads in games i paid for. If i pay for something i don't want it littered with ads, period. You made money off me, get off my back.

On our side we tested Ads on BaDaBoo and it's around 30 $ to 100 $ per day. We added Admob not from the beginning, we already had around 300 000 downloads, now we have around 750 000 downloads. For me doing 200$ / per hour is really huge and mean huge number of downloads and replayability.
