Is it relative touch ? Do you swipe to move etc ? How long you hold the touch determines how far you move in that direction. It auto fires when an alien is in the red beam. Madgarden also has Saucelifter! that offers iCade support. It's vector retro goodness...with Aliens! Capricornman Well-Known Member Dec 8, 2011 2,992 0 0 #5 Capricornman, Jul 23, 2013 Very good game! Excellent graphics, retro sounds and controls very well. Just played two games and I'm already addicted A very easy recommendation! mchlmc Member Oct 31, 2012 14 0 1 #6 mchlmc, Jul 23, 2013 I had been following the progress of Chillaxian after I voted for it to be made in the poll on Madgarden's site and bought it as soon as I saw it was available. I'm pleased to say that the finished game more than lives up to its promise! It is a very well implemented retro shooter which has perfect controls. Highly recommended! bigred447uk Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2009 1,241 3 38 #7 bigred447uk, Jul 24, 2013 Bought ! Great game. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,240 180 63 #14 Royce, Jul 24, 2013 Last edited: Jul 24, 2013 Very well done, but a bit slow to start for my taste. I wish there was a way to get it to ramp up a bit faster, a hard mode or faster turbo mode, but I suppose that might be counter to the chillaxing intent of the game. I just though it took too long to play, especially considering it was my first game. Controls are nice, and I love the vibe. The only other thing I didn't really like was the blobbing action of the alien mobs. It just removes any sort of strategy in trying to pick off particular aliens and makes it a matter of indiscriminately firing on the blob until there are only a few left and you have to aim. The bosses are a lot of fun, more about bullet dodging. The debris fields seem a little sparse and easy relative to the other segments. Overall, I would recommend it as a quality causal static shooter. Edit: I just saw the achievements, and I'm starting to think maybe it's a game I'm supposed to play and stop and continue over longer periods of time than I had expected for this sort of game. So I might have just approached it incorrectly. Okay I just discovered I can start from higher waves So that might solve my primary complaint. When you pass every 10 wave stretch (and beat the boss) you can then start at that wave in new games... at that ncreased difficulty level. The clumping etc. is all part of it and you'll appreciate being able to more easily take out the fodder once the weirder/tougher aliens show up. Update 1.1, which is already submitted, accentuates this further. But yeah, chillaxing early on, and more intense as you unlock higher waves. Pipipitchu, I didn't make a trailer/video, but might tackle that in a couple days. There are already some video reviews online though. oldgamer dude Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2013 487 0 0 #16 oldgamer dude, Jul 24, 2013 Any more impressions? Anything in particular you're wondering about? oldgamer dude Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2013 487 0 0 #19 oldgamer dude, Jul 24, 2013 Well since you asked, how is the variety of stages and enemies? Plus can you turn off auto shoot and control it like the old galaxien? I mean is there another control method? Thanks, also I couldn't find a vid, but the pics look like pixely goodness. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,240 180 63 #20 Royce, Jul 24, 2013 There are three types of "stages", enemy groups, bosses, and debris fields. The different types require different strategies and keep things interesting (bosses are my favorite part). The variety of enemies and bosses seems pretty good once you get a little further in. I don't know at what point I will have seen all the alien types but currently I'm still discovering new ones. There is no way to turn off autofire, and no alternative control method.
