Gabrien Well-Known Member Nov 24, 2009 5,148 0 36 #5 Gabrien, Jul 23, 2013 I like the Ico-ish vibe about this, but would be nice to know a little more about what the gameplay entails. Title is a bit of a turn-off. JoshW66 Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2012 65 0 0 #6 JoshW66, Jul 23, 2013 I've only gotten a little bit into the game, but so far the controls are quite nice - typical pull back, aim and release for shooting arrows, tilting the phone to move your horse and rider to avoid obstacles shot at you. It's very fun and beautiful to behold. I really like when designers make something cool of a pixellated world. Have to pass. Shame as the game itself looks great Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #10 Exact-Psience, Jul 23, 2013 If it was tilt-only i'd consider it, but tilting while having my finger/thumb on-screen and constantly repositioning it for aiming is going to be unbearable to me. slamraman Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Aug 27, 2011 2,511 8 38 #11 slamraman, Jul 23, 2013 Damn!! Change that tilt and i'm in. JoshW66 Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2012 65 0 0 #12 JoshW66, Jul 23, 2013 Last edited: Jul 23, 2013 I wouldn't dismiss this game so quickly. I've made it nearly to the end of the first level and am really digging it and find the controls pretty elegant, even if they are a combo of touching and tilting. This is a game where the developer has clearly put a lot of thought and love into it and it shows. I would rather support someone with such passion and maybe they can add control options. Sorry to go on about this, I just think this is a special game (and like I said, I normally don't like any tilting either!) Someone else TOFTT so I know I'm not crazy! icoker Well-Known Member Mar 26, 2013 652 10 18 #13 icoker, Jul 23, 2013 i will purchase this. You cant just dismiss the game for its controls without even trying them. Not all tilt controls are horrible. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #14 psj3809, Jul 23, 2013 Controls to me are key to a game. I dont mind if a game has poor graphics, i dont mind if a game isnt widescreen as long as the gameplay is great. With tilt controls i just dont enjoy the gameplay. Lots of games have alternative controls which pleases everyone, if this had it i would buy it in an instance. JoshW66 Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2012 65 0 0 #15 JoshW66, Jul 23, 2013 I've now gotten to the second level and still really love this. But now I have to go to sleep. I hope other people will give this a shot but also do hope I won't lead anyone astray in my enthusiasm for this! I just love when people do something sorta new with pixel graphics. lekochen Member Jul 19, 2013 23 0 0 #16 lekochen, Jul 23, 2013 Thank you JoshW66. Yes that's how the control works. One reason we choose tilting to move is because we want to make the player "feel" they are riding a horse. With tilting, you hold the device with both of your hands, then tilt to move left/right, or speed up/down, like really holding the reins to direct a horse. Another reason is that since we already make the player to shoot arrows using his/her fingers, we don't want them to move using taps. That won't feel right. And the virtual pad is worse. We have tried various kinds of controls and eventually we still think this one is the best for the gaming experience. Base on our playtesting, the player would take a little time to learn how to control, and they can experience the mounted archery gameplay, very smoothly. slamraman Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Aug 27, 2011 2,511 8 38 #17 slamraman, Jul 23, 2013 Bought as I saw it was only 70p. Only have an iPad to hand at the moment. I really like the game but just don't like the tilting (to move the horse). If the right hand side could be used as a slider for this it could be very, very good. Love the graphics and sonics. Reminds me of Forbidden Forest on the C64 from way back when. lekochen Member Jul 19, 2013 23 0 0 #18 lekochen, Jul 23, 2013 Whoa, I'm very glad you can tell that!
