Sorry if this has been mentioned but why have you guys used 1949 as the year? Is this some alternative WW2 timeline or something? I can't think of any significant airborne conflict happening in 1949...

I'm a 30+ exp in playing games (I'm old enough to have lived the arcade's golden age) and I have to say your game seems (almost*) perfect to me. Obviously a shmup isn't only graphics, but "chi ben comincia..." * my only doubt is that landscape view, but I understand your choice
