Vovin ð® Spam Police ð Nov 28, 2009 6,514 3 38 Germany #5 Vovin, Mar 3, 2013 Well, of course that's not reality, that would be a boring game if it were. From the description, it seems to hold a lot of content - and a 12 hour campaign for the asked price is appropriate. As long as the game is good. undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,486 2 36 Houston, TX #6 undeadcow, Mar 3, 2013 This light cyberpunk theme looks promising, I remember the developer promoting with a social media fueled iTunes credit contest. The screenshots don't look very RPGish (too menu based, implying limited exploration/combat) so I'm skeptical. Scrav Member Feb 16, 2013 14 0 0 #7 Scrav, Mar 3, 2013 It does look interesting. I do like screenshot 5, which seems to hint at some potential strategic depth. I'm a bit of a sucker for stats. I wonder if the "combat" is supposed to be turn based or action. It's hard to tell from the screenshots. While the screens do look text heavy, doesn't mean that this is not an RPG. undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,486 2 36 Houston, TX #16 undeadcow, Mar 3, 2013 Last edited: Mar 3, 2013 Fair point; I meant the screenshots look vague and don't necessarily convey game mechanics. The term RPG is sometimes overused (many modern games involve plot and character development but are not neccessarily RPGs). Some of my favorite RPGs are "text heavy" (which was not my original point) so I remain curious. Estrica Well-Known Member Oct 16, 2012 184 0 16 #17 Estrica, Mar 3, 2013 Too early to give impressions yet, only played for about 30 mins. The game is actually an RPG with skills, experience, in-game-money... However you don't have to wander on the map, you just select the places. I didn't find any IAPs in it yet (not sure if I have unlocked all the mechanics of the game anyway). My only problem with it is that it crashes a lot on iPhone 4S. I had to close all my other apps so that it can run stably (luckily you can save anytime, so no progress is lost). Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #18 Exact-Psience, Mar 3, 2013 I always think a game will be an RPG if it has these 4 qualities: 1. a (usually intricate) character development (and generally the non-equips kind); 2. a storyline; 3. a combat system; and 4. involves adventure and/or exploration. I know a lot of the casuals nowadays dont have the adventure and exploration part, but this is what makes an RPG an RPG for me. Kemco, FF titles, Chaos Rings series, Saturday Morning RPG, TWEWY, Bastion, IB titles, Horn, Ravensword titles, etc., are prime examples. Other RPGs without the exploration or adventure part usually belongs to an RPG subgenre for me. undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,486 2 36 Houston, TX #19 undeadcow, Mar 3, 2013 Last edited: Mar 3, 2013 I like rpg-site.com (Istara)'s definition of classic RPG as involving 4 main elements.
