Are they good? psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,966 718 113 England #3 psj3809, Feb 7, 2013 Cordy was a great underated platformer, very nice graphics, nice controls, a nice platformer. Well worth picking up. Just downloaded this, again the controls are great, graphics look gorgeous, i'll be buying the full version. Yeah its 'pricey' in iOS terms but this company isnt huge and doesnt have tons of developers, if i remember right its a very small team (could even be husband/wife), i love supporting indie devs and this is (from what i've seen so far) a very good game. I love platformers and this so far has lived up to what i hope it would be. At the end of the day its free to try so give it a go. Cordy 1 is very good, Cordy Sky isnt bad (I'm not so keen on vertical Doodle Jump style games though). But very glad this sequel came out from nowhere. £2.99 for the full version is a bargain, i think back to some of the crap i bought in the 80's for 1.99 each (budget range of games). This so far looks/plays great sizzlakalonji Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Apr 16, 2009 5,712 1 0 Indiana, USA #4 sizzlakalonji, Feb 7, 2013 The series is very good. I actually also recommend their game Sleepy Jack. These devs only seem to put out quality products. devensega Well-Known Member Feb 28, 2011 621 0 0 #5 devensega, Feb 7, 2013 Cordy was Hands down the best platformer I have played on iOS, so this is essential. £2.99 is a bloody good price too for such a competent game. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #6 syntheticvoid, Feb 7, 2013 NO FREAK'N WAY WOOHOO!!!! For those of you who played the first Cordy, this is everything you loved but more of it. There are a LOT of hidden/explorable areas. This seems to be the biggest difference I see so far. These levels are chock full of places to discover. If you haven't played Cordy before and have even a passing interest in platformers, you owe it to yourself to download this game. It's free. I think the vast majority of people who play the first levels are going to want to unlock the whole experience. I'm early on, but so far it's VERY highly recommended. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #9 syntheticvoid, Feb 7, 2013 completely agree!!! That's when i found out these guys were consistent in their game quality. Despite loving runner games too much, Sleepy Jack didnt get praise from me as much as the Cordy titles did. It was a gorgeous game that just didnt click with me. sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,934 0 0 #11 sapphire_neo, Feb 7, 2013 I'm going to jump in with some contrary views. Cordy to me was very disappointing, especially after all the critical praise it gathered. Level design was sterile and controls were far too floaty. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #12 metalcasket, Feb 7, 2013 Does this also have a ridiculous amount of content (cosmetic) that's only available through IAPs? I loved the first Cordy, didn't mind the whole "IAP to unlock" pricing model, but hiding content (whether necessary or not) behind a paywall was just...ugh. As to controls, however, they feel exactly the same to me. Now, in my mind, this is a positive, as I thought the controls were (and still are) excellent. This is probably just one of those instances where personal preference differs, and I'm certainly not saying your point isn't valid, just that it differs from mine. That being said, if you didn't like the controls in the first game, you won't like them here either. 2) Since the IAP in the first game was purely cosmetic, and had no impact on game play whatsoever, I paid it no mind. I just checked, and there is indeed a lot of purely cosmetic IAP for colors, hats, outfits, etc., but again, since they don't affect game play at all, I'm going to ignore them again. This form of IAP doesn't bother me...I just ignore it. But, buyer beware...it's there. bramblett05 Well-Known Member Aug 29, 2012 5,682 0 0 #15 bramblett05, Feb 7, 2013 So pay 5 bucks for a game just to have more iap after unlocking the game via iap? sizzlakalonji Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Apr 16, 2009 5,712 1 0 Indiana, USA #16 sizzlakalonji, Feb 7, 2013 It's purely cosmetic.
