Did you guys use cocos2D for this? It looks like a lot of play value for .99c there's some very cute games out there now... Gabrien Well-Known Member Nov 24, 2009 5,148 0 36 #6 Gabrien, Jan 24, 2013 This is actually quite seriously good. seo25 Well-Known Member May 3, 2010 131 0 16 #7 seo25, Jan 24, 2013 this is a great little game! i find myself drawn into this little world, but there are a few things i'd like to see to make this game more approachable for all types of gamers, and a lot more fun! - i would like multiple classes, chat you can interchange for when you need it - like having a sword, then between battles, reach for a bow or staff - money: the one thing i found difficult early on is that i woudnt be able to save money, cause as soon as i was out of spells (cause i just ran out into the world and battled monsters for money (cause i need diamond for a light source) i found that i needed to recharge my magic spells before i could make the 20 gold for the ability or item to get diamonds apart from those two small things (well the whole money loop im in is a little frustrating, but im working through) its a great retro RPG! *edit* i do have to admit i have not gone a great deal into the game, so i dont know what i have in store for me and that i may end up finding solutions to my suggestions Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #8 Exact-Psience, Jan 24, 2013 Looks great will buy later when i get home. Gabrien Well-Known Member Nov 24, 2009 5,148 0 36 #9 Gabrien, Jan 24, 2013 As an alternative view, I actually thought the "money loop" was great. For once a game actually starts off with a real challenge and tasks you with making decisions and having a plan. Rather old school, sure, but I think that's the point here, and I found it rather refreshing after the multitude of more modern RPGs that lead you around by the nose at the start and hand you precisely what you're "supposed" to have at predetermined intervals. Agree with your other sentiments though. spajdr Well-Known Member Mar 29, 2011 627 0 16 Male Elder administrator Czech Republic, Ostrava #10 spajdr, Jan 24, 2013 Looks like angband style of game, im right? with of course better GUI etc. Primoz Well-Known Member Aug 14, 2012 2,075 0 0 #11 Primoz, Jan 24, 2013 Same here. Happy to hear about future updates etc. A very good game, reminds me of some classic old RPG's i used to play and love undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,486 2 36 Houston, TX #14 undeadcow, Jan 24, 2013 Picked up Pixel Quest RPG; it's good to see the Cuber Quest developer still in the game. Cuber Quest lacked polish but was a promising indie action RPG. Pixel Quest looks more polished and seems to hit the right themes. As unsuccessful (?) as Cuber Quest seemed the developer delivered several free content updates. bramblett05 Well-Known Member Aug 29, 2012 5,682 0 0 #15 bramblett05, Jan 24, 2013 Is this good? I like RPGs but is this worthy of my.......buck? psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,972 722 113 England #16 psj3809, Jan 24, 2013 I bought this a while back (Cuber Quest), thought it was pretty good, because of this thread i've re-downloaded it and i'm really enjoying it Its like a top down action RPG type game, give Cuber Quest a go for sure. Gabrien Well-Known Member Nov 24, 2009 5,148 0 36 #17 Gabrien, Jan 24, 2013 Well, it's probably not quite up to the very best RPGs on iOS, such as say, Yipe 5 for example, but it is definitely well above stuff like Ravensword and similar efforts. Is your buck worth the same as most other people's? If it is, then yeah, I'd say it is worth it. witedahlia Well-Known Member Jul 28, 2012 347 0 0 #18 witedahlia, Jan 24, 2013 Oh, man, instabuy! Wow I might have to grab it. undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,486 2 36 Houston, TX #20 undeadcow, Jan 24, 2013 This thread seems to be a magnet for trivial comments about assorted topics like the nature of redeem codes, free app services, Star Command, or whatever else. Here's a pixel open world RPG from a promising developer, has no one noticed that?!? I paid for the game and will post impressions once I get some more play time in but so far so good.
