After Commander Pixman I liked to create something different. So here it comes: Matchblocks. Unique gameplay. You know what I would like ? 1- A longer timer before dying when a block is out of the screen 2- A visual feedback of how much remaining for the block out of screen timer 3- Not sure if I'm right or not, but sometimes I feel the gameover is unfair, a bug in the timer? Or maybe this is because I can't clearly see the blocks that are just above the line, and don't realize soon enough I'm in danger. [edit] Oh I see now why I have this feeling, I didn't realize you have only one minute to play. But... WHY? give us an infinite mode, your game will get *much* more addicitive this way. OneMinuteGames Well-Known Member Oct 14, 2010 400 2 18 iOS Game Developer http://www.one-minute-games.com #8 OneMinuteGames, Nov 29, 2012 Most of your feedback should be in the first update that will be submitted most probably even today Especially better visual feedback of how much time remaining for the block out of screen. And it seems you have played free version only In full version you have 4 game modes and definitely all of them are infinite. I will also include game mode from "Arcade" version as well in the paid version. jptsetung Well-Known Member May 27, 2009 156 0 0 #9 jptsetung, Nov 29, 2012 Ah OK . It was not clear that the 60" limitation is due to the lite version. And more over the buy/upgrade button is not easy enough to find IMO. You might miss a few sales here. My advice is to update the lite version and to show the "Get more" screen each time the game is over because of the 60" limitation. Damn compelling but you just want MORE, which, of course, is the whole point, well done. So having gotten the full version, I already have one annoyance. Since the key to unlocking the next mode after Classic is to reach level 7 in Classic, why not display the current level somewhere on screen? I mean, heck, even the level ups just say, "Level Up" with no indication of which level you are on now. Sure, if I pause the game I can see the level but this is just not an ideal system, nor something I would have the liberty of doing when things are really crazy on screen! I love how, in the chaos, you might be concentrating on clearing one block and out of the corner of your eye you catch that you've already marked out two thirds of another block you hadn't even noticed previously. You need to therefore quickly switch your focus the second you've cleared your first block to one you may already be a ways into and finish it off or all of that coincidental labor would be for naught. Great minimalistic fun so far! 4/5 OneMinuteGames Well-Known Member Oct 14, 2010 400 2 18 iOS Game Developer http://www.one-minute-games.com #11 OneMinuteGames, Nov 29, 2012 Yep, I thought about showing that "needed level" somewhere, but basically couldn't found a space for it. And yes, the pause screen is where current level is. I'll think more about it maybe. In the meanwhile, first update will be submitted today with some colors tweaks to ease the game for colorblind people ( but not a really fix yet, though it will be in the future versions ) and some fixes. runliketurtles Well-Known Member Feb 21, 2012 191 0 16 #12 runliketurtles, Nov 29, 2012 I wasn't sure I needed another block dropping puzzle game so soon after the excellent Dream of Pixels, but I tried the free version anyway...and now I'm about to buy the full version. This game is really cool. It really isn't like Tetris at all. You're really trying to quickly and efficiently tap out sequences of colors. Well, more fun than that sounds I'm not sure I like the tap 4x circles. They're annoying (which is maybe the point Definitely recommended. OneMinuteGames Well-Known Member Oct 14, 2010 400 2 18 iOS Game Developer http://www.one-minute-games.com #13 OneMinuteGames, Nov 29, 2012 Yep, exactly those circles with dots are definitely obstacles in the game! So being the obstacle... That's their role bonesquad Member Jan 15, 2012 20 0 0 #14 bonesquad, Nov 30, 2012 I'll also chime in that I really like this game. It isn't quite what I expected, but I was surprised how much I enjoyed tapping out the correct sequence. or at least trying to Which gets me to my one major complaint. I'd say I suck at Matchblocks (well, because I do), but right now I'm 3rd on the leaderboards at 15.5 million (ok, sadly that's only of 31, I hope more get the game). Yet I still only have classic mode unlocked. What do I need to do to unlock more modes! Yeah, I know it says I need level 7, but I'd suggest rethinking that. Right now it seems waaaay too hard to unlock more modes. I'm sure you'll say, that's the point! But that doesn't mean I like it. lena Well-Known Member Mar 26, 2011 1,049 2 36 #15 lena, Nov 30, 2012 Last edited: Nov 30, 2012 You should add "from the dev of Commander Pixman" to the title of this thread. The game doesn't work in landscape on iPad 1, but this is not immediately apparent, because you can play and the rotation isn't fixed to portrait, you just miss things. The screens are cut off (but at first I thought, well, maybe this is by design). You don't see scores, there's no pause button, no back button in the tutorial (if you start it again from the home screen) or mode select screen. [edit]I played some more and really like it. I agree with LordGek that the current level should be more visible and also with bonesquad that it would be more fun if at least the first other mode unlock were a little easier to attain. But it doesn't auto-lock there and since almost all iPad games are landscape, that's how I started the game. I thought it was really broken at first and was already on my way to write a bug report when I thought about trying it on my phone, found out that it's a portrait game, tried that on iPad, and everything worked. So, the only thing you should fix is the disabling the auto-rotation. My iPad 1 is on IOS 5.1.
