You can bet that a lot of folks who will be playing the game will not be able to pay for IAPs in Canada. The game itself is not set up as a freemium experience --though like Horn, Dark Meadow, and Infinity Blade, or you will be able to spend money on IAP to speed up progress. relyes Well-Known Member Mar 29, 2012 169 0 0 Kerosene Games San Francisco #19 relyes, Oct 29, 2012 Last edited: Oct 29, 2012 Wow! You guys are quick! What an amazing community It's true, Bladeslinger is finally live, but only in Canada (and South Africa if that eventually works out...some weirdness there with games...). As you guys probably know, developers often choose a smaller market to "soft launch" before going global. That's what we're doing here. We've very happy with the game right now, but it's a fast-moving (despite it's long development cycle) work in progress. There's been some discussion about the price here...as you can see, it's free to download right now in soft launch. This is primarily so that we get as many people in the door from this one market as possible to see what they like about the game, where they struggle, and of course, what we can improve for global launch. Canadians are probably a little nicer than the rest of us, but we're hoping for some good critical feedback as well as creating a lot of smiles and thrills for our first players Our expected global availability is just a few weeks away, but we want to make sure, as ironsam80 said, that we kick the tires and buckle up solidly for the ride ahead. It's going to be a great one! I want to say, on behalf of Luma Arcade and Kerosene, thanks again for all the support for Bladeslinger in this community from Day 1. It's been incredibly motivating for all of us, and inspiring for us to make the best game we possibly could. We're so excited to get Bladeslinger in *everyone's* hands soon!
