Wow! For everyone looking for that "Settlers" iOS fix this game is IT! Great and deep simulation title, super fun - lots of game modes, and an open endless "Sandbox" mode. Crazy fun. I have been hoping for a better Settlers game on iOS for a while. This game picks up the slack perfectly. Theres a Premium version with no ads, and a free version to try it out. You can get rid of the ads for .99, which i would gladly pay for a title like this. This is going to be my go-to game for my village building sim fix for a looong time. Support them so we can see updates! One thing I would like is better crispness with the graphics. They can be a little fuzzy around the edges, maybe just my iPod touch, but I would like to see a higher retina quality. That said, the gameplay alone more than makes up for that gripe. Deep, complex, resource management, tons of buildings and upgrades! so excited! THANK YOU! jecebn Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2008 1,612 0 36 Kansas City, MO #3 jecebn, Sep 15, 2012 Omg- this could be what I've been waiting for. The game runs pretty fast, with default building build rates around a minute or two, plus time taken for workers to travel to the construction site. An alternate way of describing it would be a freemium game running on crack. There's a 5x speed option that can be activated for a 60 real-world seconds. The resources is standard production chain affair, nefariously bottlenecked in freemium games to choke a player's progress. In this game, non of the production resources can be bought by money. The sole premium currency 'prestige points' is used to unlock additional endless maps and challenges, instantly build/complete a building, or replenish the time compression ability. Also, a small but sizable amount of prestige is earned in EVERY task/quest in complete. Blasphemy! I don't think the developer wants to make money. I'm not going to bother making 'if you like ___ then get this' comments. This game is a freemium killer. coelers Member Oct 1, 2012 5 0 0 #6 coelers, Jan 20, 2013 Love the free app. What is the difference between the free and the premium app? Is it only the adds and the extra prestige? HLW Well-Known Member Sep 2, 2010 1,355 0 0 UK #7 HLW, Jan 27, 2013 I'm having problems getting the tavern satisfaction above 50 in some levels - I've built a second tavern, and it went to 55 for a bit, but then it dropped back to 50. Can anyone help? JohnMilton Member Jan 27, 2013 16 0 0 #8 JohnMilton, Jan 27, 2013 Game Impressions I played Townsmen for a few minutes and I must say I'm really happy with it. The graphics are really sweet, the music is consistent to the era and the feel of the game and the help given at the beginning is just what I need to move on. I'll be playing a lot more, congratulations to the devs! HLW Well-Known Member Sep 2, 2010 1,355 0 0 UK #9 HLW, Jan 29, 2013 Has anyone played this enough to help me with my question re: the tavern? Playswithpaper Member Jul 28, 2012 13 0 0 #10 Playswithpaper, Feb 3, 2013 I've found out that having multiple taverns and vineyards so that there is enough grape juice can get you to 100%. The more townspeople you have the more production you need. Hope that helps! Thanks! echo_pdx Active Member Feb 4, 2013 29 0 0 #12 echo_pdx, Feb 20, 2013 This would be great. A shame this didn't get a TA review. I just found it after a long, long hunt for a decent city builder, and Townsmen is exactly what I was looking for. There is a massive gap in the app store for this type of game, and we finally have a decent game to help fill it. Highly recommended. bigred447uk Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2009 1,241 3 38 #13 bigred447uk, Feb 20, 2013 I remember playing this game in ancient pre-iPhone days before 2008 on some long forgotten Nokia smartphone I forget the name of. But you deactivate also the ads within the freemium game anytime! HG VAMPIRE Well-Known Member Jul 11, 2013 300 103 43 #17 HG VAMPIRE, Dec 2, 2014 no you cant move any buildings. So, I was super excited to find this one! I am giving it 4 stars mainly because I would rather the premium version had no IAPs. My ideal town building game would be this one completely void of IAPs. But if you're tired of attacking others towns and them killing yours, or tired of waiting for long timers, this one will be quite refreshing! And sure you can try the free version, but I recommend buying the ad-free version.
