Yeah...I know I got problems. I was going to start a thread but forgot to. The graphics seem skewed a bit, as if the perspective is a bit off. What caught my eye though was the bosses or enemies. Whatever that Pyramid Head looking thing is. Seems to have an interesting art style. Reminds me of the graphic style of a Playstation One game called Nightmare Creatures. Now THIS looks like a SERIOUS endless (?) runner! When Exact-Psience wakes up, he's going to spoil himself. I might just buy this, caution be damned. That boss, the one that transforms from the building with the Greek colonnades, is one of the raddest (in a slightly disturbing way) enemies I've seen in a long time. Especially in an iOS game. There are obviously bosses. I'de be interested in finding out how exactly the game progresses after one "run". Also, from the video it's impossible to tell if the world is "semi-open" at least giving the player a wide breadth to maneuver through, or if it's mostly just cinematics. WAV 80 Well-Known Member Nov 5, 2011 179 0 0 #14 WAV 80, Sep 9, 2012 Like temple run, temple run brave, and theendapp, I think this will eventually go free. Those are also the reasons why I haven't bought pitfall yet, though I really want to play it already. I think this and pitfall will be free soon enough. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #15 metalcasket, Sep 9, 2012 Absolutely hate comments like these. It's this mentality that's making everything go free. Also, TheEndApp was always free. That said, loving this. There's a slight learning curve as this is certainly a brand new take on the genre, but Christ...I love it. The music, atmosphere, the shrieks...really, really, REALLY fun. sink_or_swim Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2012 3,504 5 38 Germany #16 sink_or_swim, Sep 9, 2012 You're a hero. Without shadows (even the blob kind) there's a sense that you are floating over the ground, not running on wet, shingled rooftops. I find that floaty quality to be ultimately disorienting, and many of my deaths have come because I get confused about the environment. * Speaking of which, the view angle feels too low, which simply gives you too little information about what's coming up. * You have no control over jump height and distance. This is a big one for me. It's so easy (and frustrating) to overshoot ramps because you meant to take a short hop and instead end up leaping clear across your landing space. A single-height jump works in Temple Run and the like because the obstacles are always the same height or distance. This is more like Canabalt, where taking a big leap can screw you over on the next jump. I would say that that last issue is a dealbreaker and should be rethought by the developer. It definitely makes it hard to recommend what is otherwise an impressive endless runner. Qwertz555 Well-Known Member May 22, 2010 2,318 29 48 #19 Qwertz555, Sep 9, 2012 +1 squarezero Incredible surprise on a sunday morning ! My most wanted game since the upcoming thread. Atmosphere, music and controls feels real, real good to me, but i do definitely not like this long floating after a jump. Not at all. No idea where i'm gonna land. Thanks to the good tilt control, it sometimes is still managable to land safe, somewhere... In my eyes, this needs to be fixed. (Interesting what others will say about that.) Started with gamecenter off, i didn't encounter any lag at all. Runs smooth on my iphone4. Later i was able to upload my high-score, what is a nice thing. Also the low size of this app seems to be amazing. Expected way more. Congrats Gamesmold to this release and good luck !
