I'm doing the Zombie campaign on hard, didn't find it particularly difficulty, so now I'm trying the Alien one on easy to see if I can blow through it quickly. And to be honest, doesn't seem like much of a difference. But then again, I just amass a group of about 9 and have them plow the field. =D
There aren't any benefits, except for the fact it's MUCH harder. Your score may be higher because of that, since it'll take you longer to conquer a street or city. Basically, yes, the benefit is you have a higher score, but this may not apply to some people if they can bust through it just as fast (though I doubt anyone can beat Hard faster than Medium).
