@redcoat: Can you explain what about it is specifically 'poopy' so that we may make the game better? Is it an issue in the game? (Such as any bugs you're getting?) Is it an aesthetics issue? (Looks in the game?) Is it a gameplay issue? (Needs more levels? better controls? better something, etc.?) Or is it just a personal issue? (Not everyone loves RPG/Action Adventure games so maybe its not a game genre you like) Please clarify so that we know what to work on in the future as the comment of "the game is poopy" really doesn't help us narrow down how we can make the game better for end users. Thanks! Abhinav
Video Trailer Added @All: Just added the video trailer to the beginning of the post, please view it as well to see what the game play is like as well Abhinav
It nice if people could show some respect to the developers on these threads. This is people's work and livelihood. It's totally fine not to like something but at least articulate why you don't like it in a respectful manner.
Is anyone going to say if this game is good or not - I totally respect the indie devs and all, but it's be kinda nice if one of you fine folk would actually tell the rest of us what you thought too.
Just wanted to say this. Some persons who commented on this thread are acting like a bunch of idiots, while the developers are just being nice by giving people a chance to win an iTunes gift card, and also trying to receive feedback to improve their game. There's nothing wrong with that, it happens all the time on these forums. I will leave my honest feedback when I have the time, without entering the contest. Come on people, behave yourselves and show some respect.
That's a fair comment Anyone have any feedback on what they thought (good or bad) to help answer this question? I wont answer because I'm obviously biased on it. From my end i've provided a video and screen shots (check the first post) and even a bit of info. The concept that we tried to hit was - Casual game meets RPG Action Adventure with simple controls. Turn your device to move, tap the screen to fire, go through the various challenges and enjoy the storyline But yes please, for those who have already tried the game, if you could help out some of the users here by posting your thoughts it would be greatly appreciated Abhinav Game Scorpion
Going by this thread, I won't bother I can't believe it's almost 4 pages and no one has gave one piece of info on the game accept its "poopy" honestly!
Thanks for the support @All: Thanks for all the supporting comments for us smaller indie devs. We may not have marketing budgets in the millions, and its sad that many great games and apps dont see the light of day because of it. Please continue to be your awesome selves and thank you all for the help and support in helping us indies make better games and apps for all of you, our valued end users God Bless! Right - just some initial views; the top line is - this ones not for me. The main reason for this is that I'm not a fan of motion controls and this seems to be the prime input for this puppy; give me touch or swipe controls and we'll talk. In terms of the overall view of the game - I've not given it a fair shot to win me over (like I say, I really don't like motion controls) - but the premise seems to be guiding your wagon through a maze, there's a time limit and collectables. It looks to have an IAP model attached and timers - but with a free game I kinda expected something to that effect. Devs - your obvs here looking for feedback, so the specific improvement points from me are: - Control choice; game could still be just as good if you had different controller styles - Need a bit of a prologue - I jumped right in and had no idea why I was controlling a wheel-barrow. - Zoom functionality - appreciate there's a maze element to this, but you could have a line of sight view system and provide a zoom out option That's it. I'm not sold yet - but I've hopefully given a bit more than 'poopy'.
WAYYYY more than 'poopy' lol! Great feedback, it will help us in our future updates as we consider which features to add/replace/remove etc. Thank you! Abhinav
Tried it yesterday. The controls were a bit strange... but maybe I just don't like tilt. Also, it becomes a bit of a drag after a while,
Tried it for a little bit today. The idea is really good and I love the progression you feel through each level. The cutscenes are nice. I really think there should be a way to calibrate though. Maybe on the pause menu? Depending on if I'm sitting or laying down I've encountered times where I can't move a certain direction. Either this or the option to change to an alternative control type would be really nice. BTW the few first levels I've played have been impossible to lose, since when a dialogue box comes up you can still move around even though the timer counts down. Overall, I'd definately recommend checking this game out just due to the massive amount of content it seems to have.
I left a review on the App Store identical to the one I left above. I think my iTunes review nickname is XxDarkLightWolfxX. Thanks for running this great contest.
To add a little feedback. First off, I can tell you have put alot of time and effort into this game. The cuts scenes are nice and the menus look professional. I have to agree with other reviewers that I'm not a fan of accelerometer controls which make me feel seasick. It's even worse when you have to fire at things using the touch screen. Now my biggest complaint is the wagon. It has no animations at all. It's just a square brown box in the middle of the screen. How about adding something a little more lively like a battle cart with big moving wheels. Or even control an animal through the wizard. Anyways, thanks for the contest and good luck with your game!
