Parts of buildings or landscape get "painted" different colors as you pass by them in close proximity, and you're scored based on what you paint, with some things being worth more than others, plus there are targets that you can smash through for additional points and a few other systems as well. So it's not really like graffiti in, say, Jet Set Radio, more like graffiti mode in the Tony Hawk games, where you just have to plan your optimal route through the course to "tag" as much as possible. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,964 717 113 England #13 psj3809, Feb 29, 2012 It wont be out until midnight tonight. Every wednesday there are several new releases which come out in midnight in New Zealand first so thats why the threads today have NZ in them as theyre released in NZ which is 11am our time. We get to hear what the games are and what ones are out but obviously cant download them (unless you live in NZ), then it starts to hit the rest of the world throughout the day, so for us it'll be midnight. My wife wonders why i'm so keen to do the 'late shift' every wednesday night for the baby, quite happy to give the baby her bottle and also download the games at midnight So if you see a game thread with NZ in it that means its out in NZ but it'll be out in the UK at midnight that day. (I am well aware that many games are simply made for and intended to be enjoyed with tilt controls, but I've also learned that even in these cases, touch can be a smart move for devs, even if the devs themselves find such controls wholly unfeasible, as many players might not. Kinda the same debate as porting to iPhone from iPad, that even if the devs themselves can't see the game being properly enjoyed on such a small screen, many players might, and the increase in sales and attention might be worth the effort.) psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,964 717 113 England #15 psj3809, Feb 29, 2012 Last edited: Feb 29, 2012 ^Agree with that, would love for that to be the norm, eg alternative controls for people. I see lots of indie devs adding alternative controls to their games but some of the 'bigger' games you're just stuck with the control system they want. I'm a huge fan of touch screen controls, dont normally like tilt, just wish it was there for an alternative for people. Sorry for going off topic, I love the look of Waking Mars and will buy it, but would have been very happy if there were left/right/thrust type buttons. Is this game just an avoidance game? That's what it looks like. Is that all there is to it? Avoid the walls/ledges and smash the point things? Sounds like a 99 cent game if so. $2.99 seems like it's pushing it. Or is there more to it than that? aggiedeals Well-Known Member Apr 22, 2009 160 0 0 #19 aggiedeals, Feb 29, 2012 This game looks cool, but I cant stand the title! was F=MxA already taken??
