From the writers of The Simpsons, comes the city building game that lets you create your own living, breathing Springfield! When Homer accidently causes a meltdown that wipes out Springfield, it’s up to you to clean up his mess… we mean, help him rebuild it! Collect Your Favorite Characters Help reunite Homer with his loved ones - Marge, Lisa, Maggie (and even sometimes Bart) – as well as his not so loved ones, like Ned Flanders. Re-populate Springfield with your favorite characters, from Barflies (Barney Gumble) to Wise Guys (Fat Tony). Add them all, we won’t judge! Dress your characters to the nines with options like Daredevil Bart or Lizard Queen Lisa, and relive scenes from your favorite episodes of The Simpsons! Take Charge of Your Springfield Can’t control your own life? Now you can control the lives of the citizens of Springfield instead! Make Apu work ridiculously long shifts at the Kwik-E-Mart, have Moe smuggle illegal animals, or make Homer toil poolside all day… that last one might not be so bad. Build Your Own Springfield Think Homer deserves to live next door to Moe’s? Or the monorail can survive a few more sharp twists and turns? Or 40% fewer health inspectors? Well you can finally make Springfield just the way you want it! Expand your town to the Waterfront, grow its businesses with the glamourous shops of Springfield Heights, and enjoy its sights, all with only a few taps. Experience Unique Simpsons Stories Catch exclusive animated scenes and new hilarious stories from the writers of The Simpsons. You know they’re good because they write for The Simpsons! Tapped Out is the most life-ruiningly fun Simpsons game you can play! Always Something New for Your Favorite Town Springfield might perpetually be on the verge of destruction, buy hey, at least it’s never boring. Whether it’s Halloween monster invasions, superheroes run amok, or chaos caused by one of Homer’s “great” ideas, you’ve got never-ending options to tap! I'm gonna drink a Flaming Moe and avoid this like if it was a plate full of Springfield three-eyed fish. I was expecting it to be total crap. But it's got loads of Simpsons humor, the intro for one is hilarious. Sure it's another farm/town/whatever freemium game but with the real voices and humor this is looking like I might actually play it for a while. It is still the usual affair though. Do a mission wait X amount of time and repeat. crex Doctor of Game of the Week-ology Oct 18, 2010 7,679 10 0 Everywhere and Nowhere #11 crex, Feb 21, 2012 One of the very rare occasions where a freemium game actually looks really good imo. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #12 squarezero, Feb 22, 2012 I would love to see an iOS port of Hit & Run. But frankly, I would be curious to see a satirical take on the Freemiun trend, similar to what Hit & Run did for GTA. Not sure if that's what we have here, though. sizzlakalonji Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Apr 16, 2009 5,712 1 0 Indiana, USA #13 sizzlakalonji, Feb 22, 2012 If this were a piss take on freemium I'd be all over it. Unfortunately I'm guessing it isn't. I'd love to be wrong though. oooooomonkey Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2011 6,307 0 0 Forge World #14 oooooomonkey, Feb 22, 2012 While its still a freemium game at heart it also takes the piss out of freemium games in the cut scene (homer is playing elf town or something on his mypad in the opening scene and spends 1k while saying he'll just get a refund by blaming the kids for doing it) lol. It's deffinatly worth a look if you like the Simpsons. Management type game isn't for me but this is a pretty good Simpsons game. It's full of humor and style, definitely download to try if you're a Simpsons fan. toythatkills Well-Known Member Apr 23, 2010 350 0 0 Thames Ditton, UK #18 toythatkills, Feb 22, 2012 How intrusive are the IAPs? Could one really play it for free or will I find that progress is halted for days. For example, Tiny Tower can be played for free. Anything by Zynga cannot. I suppose it uses Origin instead of GameCenter too, so will I be missing much if I'm not connected to friends? Xexist Well-Known Member May 6, 2010 2,440 1 0 Canada #19 Xexist, Feb 22, 2012 It does use origin, no idea how much you lose by not inviting friends though. This game does actually have a decent sense of humor, but is IAP necessary? Hard to say at this point.. You do collect some premium currency just during normal play, but it doesnt seem like a lot. Also be careful because I spent some accidentally. I went to tap the little (i) to get information about the mystery box, and ended up clicking on the box itself, there was no confirmation if I wanted to spend the donuts, it just deducted them. I felt a little cheated even if it was my own fat fingers fault. Snozberry Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2012 876 2 0 #20 Snozberry, Feb 22, 2012 Do you really have to talk about your finger in such a derogatory manner? I feel a bit sorry for it! It's hard work is obviously not appreciated! I can guarantee you, without those fingers you'd be a very frustrated man, so please don't throw them under the bus like that!
