It looks good, the replay value is high, and the price is reasonable for a universal app. This game will remain on your device for a long, long time." - AppAdvice "if you want to kill the time. It is a good choice!" - Best 10 Apps "its wave-based gameplay is successful when coupled with the tried and true shooter mechanics. There is a good amount of content and new content is unlocked periodically as players play through more and more waves. Some really exceptional enemy designs also make this game easy to enjoy..." - 148Apps "Backdrops are gorgeous and the game delivers rich special effects" - iAppsArena "another nice game from Rapid Turtle Games" - Crazy Mike's Apps * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/rtgames Become a Starfighter Overkill fan on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rapid-Turtle-Games/117010321695631 Check out the gameplay videos on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/rapidturtlegames Information Seller:Rapid Turtle Games Genre:Action, Arcade Release:Feb 16, 2012 Updated:Jan 27, 2017 Version:1.2.2 Size:116.6 MB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating:Unrated Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Free Version: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/starfighter-overkill-free/id505494999?mt=8 psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,972 722 113 England #2 psj3809, Feb 15, 2012 Like the look of this game, nice surprise this turning up, reminds me of that old game 'Silkworm' with the jeeps appearing at the bottom pavarotti2007 Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2010 1,030 0 0 UK #3 pavarotti2007, Feb 15, 2012 Looks pretty decent, looking forward to this now. arta Well-Known Member Feb 14, 2009 6,902 1 36 #4 arta, Feb 15, 2012 Looks pretty good. SuperWeird Well-Known Member Dec 9, 2010 509 0 0 #5 SuperWeird, Feb 16, 2012 I like this game a lot so far. It's an endless space shooter with 4 worlds to unlock as you play. Sweet graphics and sounds, excellent controls, lots of power ups, universal, non-stop endless bullet hell with boss battles; shmup fans should give this a try. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,972 722 113 England #6 psj3809, Feb 16, 2012 Gave this a punt and bought it, had a few crash issues on my 64 gig ipod (Apparently if you have way too many apps on the 64 gig model it can cause a lot of memory issues - Apple didnt tell me this when i bought it as i wanted the big memory for more games !) Anyway got it working now and it doesnt seem to be crashing, actually really like the graphics, the shooting noise gets a 'bit' annoying but nothing major, done the first 8 worlds and have to replay those to unlock the later levels. 'Bit' pricey in iOS terms at £1.49 but i'm liking it, some good weapons to use, nice bullet hell type shooter. This is not bullet hell at all. Bullet hell is a small subgenre of shmups, dramatically overrepresented on iOS (not that I'm complaining), with characteristic screen-filling curtains of slower moving bullets. This is a pure traditional endless side scroller which I was personally very disappointed by. The ships are too big, so it's essentially like they cut the screen size of most shooters down to a quarter, making everything seem cramped and decreasing the fun significantly. I played one game, and was bored to death before it was over. I was just waiting to die after wave 20 or so but it took until 37. It took so long. They need difficulty settings (or did I miss them) and they need the intensity to increase faster.
