The controls are pretty intuitive but took me a minute or two to get the hang of (sort of). Anyone with more skill than me with games on the iPhone, which I'm sure is most of you, should have no problem. Very nice retro look/feel and worth checking out... though the price might put off some people. I'm not THAT good but the description says 64 as Appletini mentioned BrettArchibald Well-Known Member Jul 17, 2008 1,435 18 38 Male Self-employed interactive designer. Formerly Zimbabwe - now England. http://www.LonelyMachine.com #7 BrettArchibald, Aug 11, 2011 Hmmm, looks interesting... but what the video doesn't show is how the controls actually work, in terms of finger input... Where do you touch? How do you touch? etc. I'm not a fan of seeing demo videos on emulators, and I'd much rather see a recording of someone actually playing it on an iPad so I can see how the player actually interacts with the screen. As Vic and Bob would say, we really wanna see those fingers! CygnetSeven Well-Known Member Feb 6, 2010 7,596 33 48 #8 CygnetSeven, Aug 11, 2011 This looks like it would frustrate the hell out of me, in a good way. Considering. HerbertKornfeld Well-Known Member Oct 13, 2008 141 1 18 #9 HerbertKornfeld, Aug 11, 2011 Taps and gestures can be performed anywhere on the screen. When in flight, a tap anywhere on the screen will reverse your direction. If you're suspended in air by a fan, you'll swipe in whatever direction you'd like to go. When standing, you press and hold on the screen to "duck", and you fly up when you release your hold. You can "step" left and right by using a gesture in the direction of where you'd like to move. This game is great. It's challenging in the later levels, but never frustrating, and there are lots of hidden secrets to discover. The touch controls are not a problem. Having said that, I'd love to see support added for the iCade. With the nice retro vibe that this game has, I'm guessing that this would play great on there. treasurestudio Well-Known Member Apr 19, 2011 71 1 6 http://www.treasurestudio.co.uk #10 treasurestudio, Aug 11, 2011 Yeah £1.99 is a bit higher than usual but having played it, it's a lovely little slice of retro goodness. Nice style to the graphics, full of character. Chip tunes are very NES inspired... nice. Seems to be quite a bit of hidden stuff too. bgribin Well-Known Member Mar 7, 2009 355 0 0 Seattle, WA #11 bgribin, Aug 11, 2011 Fireballed http://daringfireball.net/linked/2011/08/11/last-rocket nikhsterboi Well-Known Member Jan 6, 2010 1,549 0 0 In an Apple store near you #12 nikhsterboi, Aug 11, 2011 Last edited: Aug 11, 2011 This game is amazing so far! The controls were actually very easy to get a grasp of thanks to the cleverly designed levels that will slowly take you through everything. Very much worth it in my opinion. The only thing that I absolutely hate is that you cannot go back and redo a level, because there isn't an apparent level select screen, so if you don't collect all of the gears in a level, you're pretty much stuck that way. Also, don't press restart from the menu if you don't actually want to restart the game. There's no message that asks you to confirm - I learned the hard way. :/ BTW, I'm currently uploading a gameplay video so you all can see the controls. Very recommended - the developer has evidently spent tons of time polishing the game. bgribin Well-Known Member Mar 7, 2009 355 0 0 Seattle, WA #13 bgribin, Aug 11, 2011 Agreed - this is a great game.
