It isn't customizable, but there are 3 control options selectable from the main menu. Simply tap the GEAR icon on the main menu and you can cycle through 3 different modes. However, we think the default is the best.
The entire goal of 1001 Attempts is the simple nature. We are VERY excited about the great response 1001 Attempts is receiving and are currently plotting basic additions to 1001 Attempts ALONG with a sequel/spin-off of similar gameplay but adding a ton of unlockables, such as game modes (goals), characters, levels with different traps and instruments of death, and other stuff and thingies.
The default is definitely the best, but it'd be nice to have the option of moving the buttons around. As others have mentioned, it can be a bit uncomfortable on the iPad... Stellar game by the way! Love it!
One minor tweak that I'd like is for the hit box on the L/R buttons to extend a bit above the buttons. It's frustrating to die because your thumb slipped just slightly too high, and hopefully isn't a difficult change to make.
CONGRATULATIONS! 1001 Attempts has been nominated, alongside 9 other games in the TouchArcade Forums [thread=180060]Game of the Week![/thread] What's your favorite? Who will win? [thread=180060]VOTE NOW[/thread]! (as a reminder, developers are not allowed to vote if their game is in the poll)
Update just out. Thanks for increasing the height of the hit box for the L/R buttons as requested! Achievements mentioned in the release notes aren't visible for me though, and I much preferred the old icon. Please consider reinstating it? The new one looks so generic! Also, the pop up requesting a review didn't work for me - I just got an error in the App Store.
Oof - just noticed that the blue flames now appear without a hazard warning sign. Is that deliberate? Death never felt cheap before, but flames appearing beneath you without warning is definitely cheap.
I'm seeing only one achievement called "Master", but without any clue of how to achieve it. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks!
The new update is cool, however I always used the control scheme where the directional buttons were on either side of the screen and jump was the middle, and since this update it seems to have been removed. I tried to reposition the controls this way but it won't let me drag the right arrow past the jump button, not sure if I'm just missing something? I managed to get #11 in the world with 5613 using the old controls and now I suck with the new ones
New update out today that fixed the warning sign issues! Now your miserable deaths can't be blamed on anyone but yourselves.
Haha, thanks for the update. How about the "master" achievement, is it a certain score that needs to be achieved, or something else?
A while back Everplay solicited suggestions for additional statements on 1001 death, will those ever make it in? There is a cake at the end is hilarious but gets old.
