Guess I'll bite on this one since it seems to be a pretty popular game here. Any chance Game Center gets added at some point?
Judging from the comments, I think I should get this game. But the pixel art is turning me off for some reason
I too was turned off by the pixel art, but the game slowly grew on me. And now I can't put it down...
You're inferring something I didn't say, since I didn't express a preference for having a detailed manual, or not. I can appreciate either approach.
Game Impressions I registered here just to chime in and say this is the best iphone game I've ever played! All you gotta do is upgrade a couple mechanics and throw me some new perks each time and i'm going to be back for any sort of sequel you make! Initially I was a bit turned off by the graphics. I get the retro aesthetic, my girlfriend was really into it. But for those that aren't so wild on it, trust me, it doesnt matter. Its just perfect! Thank you!
I actually disagree, I'm a big fan of tutorials of some sort, and while I think a LITTLE more could have been explained, I thought the tutorial that IS included gave a good amount of the picture. It would have been terrible to not have that. The dev did say he was thinking of adding a library section which would explain the different tiles more.
Have you ever experienced any enjoyment from simply figuring something out for yourself through trial and error and logic and reasoning? To me, this game seems so simple, there are only three or four things that you might not be sure of at first but you can just observe the game to see what happens. E.g., when you see that your score only goes up when you beat your previous high score and is then set to the score that you achieved during the round, it becomes pretty clear how the scoring works. Someone can tell you this, or you can figure it out, you end up at the same place, the difference is that you could enjoy figuring it out and not just playing the game itself.
Generally I would rather spend my time playing a game than figuring out how to play the game. As I said though, I think this game has a decent balance, and will be better with the library.
So I bought 2 retro flavored games this week, 10000000 and Wizorb. While better presented, too bad the latter couldn't hold my attention long. I kept coming to this!
I'm finally free...but I don't want to be! Well, endless mode is unlocked, but I don't know how long that will hold my interest.
I just got back from a long vacation where I had extremely limited Internet access. Fortunately, I did see Eli's review of 10000000 and I bought the game solely based on that write up. I finished the game in a few days and I was both happy and sad to get to the end and to freedom. This is now one of my very favorite IOS games. A big thanks to both Eli for finding it and the developer for making it. Simply awesome!
Does every game need replay value for it to be considered good? Almost every game before the 90's was about trying to get a high score. Many of which are said to be some of the best games invented.
