Heh, whoops. My boss was playing around with setting up a scheduled Sale and it looks like he's inadvertently dropped us to $0.99 for the day.

    Enjoy the mistake today, guys.

Ha ha. I was going to buy the game ASAP, but I had a feeling price drop is incoming. And to my delight it did come. Buying it now.

I love roguelikes and this one seems perfect (it's not a remake first of all).

I'll post my impressions later today

I should say that we were really hoping to get to this sale to coincide with the release of our next update, the one wherein we fixed *every* known bug and added 50% more content.

If you post impressions, I'd really, really appreciate it if you also post them after playing the next update.

Also, regarding retina support: http://gizmodo.com/5557210/what-is-the-iphones-retina-display. We could make our pixels twice as large, but it wouldn't improve the visual quality of the game.

I'll definitely post impressions after the patch also.

Frankly I don't care much about retina since I'm on 3GS.

So far intro is awesome with subtle humor :)

I got so mad after missing the BUNCH OF CODES recently :'(

Well I bought it anyway to show some love. However my only experience of Roguelikes are limited to some Angband, Powder, Desktop Dungeons, a few 7DRLs and Pokemon/Chocobo mystery dungeon (if you can consider them RLs).

I've never ascended is Angband or Powder before though (I really suck).

For someone who disliked Fargoal's controls and visual style, will I like this more compared ith gameplay etc?

Personally I like it better than Fargoal, but it's really a matter of taste.

Fargoal feels a bit faster and "grindy-er" to me, whereas 100 Rogues is a little slower and strategic. Not to say it's a "slow" game, just that you often get stuck in positions where you need to think about what to do next (how to approach an attack, etc). I also really like the visual style of 100 rogues, the music is awesome, and the sense of humor works well without being too over the top or "cute".

    Good stuff this game.

Restart the App and continue the game. You'll be placed at the entrance to the level with all equipment, skills and experience intact.

    Proper fix included in 2.0.

Here are my impressions after 1-day-traveling-time-to-college-and-back-playing-Rogue 100:

The style is great. It's charming, humorous and it definitely pays tribute to good ol' Rogue and its -likes. Combat is strategic and the game is perfect for short travels via public transportation.

But posting impressions isn't all about praising the game but giving constructive criticism in order to improve said game.

Being able to play my music on iPhone while playing the game would be awesome addition.
Button hot spots seem a bit tiny. I've missed items and even managed to kill myself couple of times because of missclick (or better said, miss-touch).

I'll hold on to posting more impressions until I play more and until the patch arrives.

I just got this last night, and it's been crashing a LOT - I have yet to get past the second level of the dungeon because of the crashes. I've got an iphone 4 with the latest OS. I didn't restart my iphone after installing, but is that really needed now with all the RAM the iphone 4 has? I saw others complain of crashes with the game as well.

I hope either this is just a fluke or it gets fixed soon - the game is a lot of fun. I think my only complaint so far is the movement control - it's not 100% reliable/accurate. There are times when I accidentally move in the wrong direction. Having the attack button does help some with that though.

Instantly purchased at 99c. Really liking the game so far.

A couple quick comments that I'm sure have been mentioned before. But these are things that immediately jumped out at me.
    - D-Pad control. Transparent, off to a corner or user placeable.
    - Mini map. Small transparent version of the main map of to a side/corner. Can be toggled on or off.

    Looking forward to 2.0!

got it since it's 99c and they took the ads out. Happy to say it's a great purchase, probably my favorite roguelike although it is a bit frustrating at times since some runs I won't get any food drops and I just end up starving to death

you should really increase food drops or something

  19. How's the difficulty? Is it accessible to players who aren't exactly great at these types of games?
