We found some last-minute, high priority bugs and a few exploitable features of the locker that needed taken care of, but 1.07 has been 55% uploaded at time of writing.
It's early. I haven't yet had my coffee. Lol. So parden me if this is a stupid question. The locker. You put things in it, so that when you die, on your next go, you can get them back? Or am I way off?
Yep, pretty much. You'll find it at most once a game, and its contents persist between plays. It's for being on level 9 and specced in the Health / Martyrin trees and coming across +3 Beetlemen's Healthy Plate of Strength, or a Spellbook. It's for being poisoned on level 6, surrounded by skeleton bots after finally managing to afford a CDs Griffin Slayer. Or, it's for anyone that's really patient and really wants to finally beat the game, so they can continue passing along enchant armor scrolls to create +2000 Robes.
Too cool! Can't wait. This is the only game that I keep coming back to more and more. So, after 1.0.7's bug fixes and locker, what will be the emphasis for 1.0.8? New levels, new characters, or both? -Flood
Too early to say. The Satan fight will probably be getting some more attention. Other than that we have some new item-related systems that could be made and more diverse map generation algorithms to implement that would be the most likely to make it in, and you can expect more bug fixes and stability, of course. New Player Classes and Worlds / Monsters are in development, as well, but they're still a ways off. Another monster got finished a few days ago for the next world, bringing the total to 2, with 6 and a Boss remaining before it's released.
More stone cats, please! ...just kidding. You really need a Wand of Shiren to either summon that locker, or whisk away an item you are carrying to it (randomly, perhaps. )
Maybe it would only work if you were holding enough items. Otherwise it would turn a random item into a rice ball.
At this point we still don't have any plans to reduce the price, temporarily or permanently, but it is possible we will at some point. When and if we ever do, we'll give ample warning (at least a week) and announce it on the official 100 Rogues forums as well as on this forum.
"Sales" are overrated when it comes to games this fun. I enjoy incorporating every update and enjoying them, especially when devs are so involved with bettering a game such as this one. You're missing out if you don't buy it now IMHO. -Flood
quick question. when you upgrade a character does it stay upgraded for future games or do you start again from nothing?
Late reply: You start from scratch every death. Level 1 & no skills. It can hurt, but you grow accustomed to it.
seriously how long can you last... what is everybody best ? im very interested in this game. Ive been lurking around but never bought it.
finally have tried the new version. well. it's much more stable now (actually very stable) and got additional content, what is always nice. However, still no diagonal movement means that any room with ranged enemies is pain in the ass, they are too weak to do something but you have to deal with them, and it takes time. Kittens XD, this is the most ridiculous way to finish the game and annoy players, and the most stupid one. Shops are useless because gold drops are rare and you can not sell stuff. Animation is still very slow on 3Gs, especially of ranged weapons. It's just simple slowdown of gameplay. This game has potential, but needs a lot of work to do. edit: speaking about stability, after entering the dungeon levels - the game is slower and more tended to crash. also explosions from robots weapon don't affect monsters sometimes.
Any tips for playing as a faerie ? What skills do you guys use and how do you survive? I tried going backstabbing route but it doesn't hold most of the times. Tried survival with teleport and healing but I don't do enough damage. I almost never pass Genie Thank you for your time!
How many roguelikes allow diagonal movement by the player? I haven't played heaps of them, so am not sure, but I think most that I have played dont allow it. Not meaning to appear to defensive for the developers here, but I think they are still tweaking gold drops. Seeing as it has been just one version with the shop and gold so far, I can understand why its not perfect yet. Even food took a while before people stopped complaining about it. Tough crowd out there! And yes, Kitty sucks, but I can understand the game design rationale for it. I'm sure it will be less annoying once 1.0.7 drops.
