Thanks! I should be able to get back to some fun stuff soon; those new items that keith mentioned and the shopkeeper, namely. Also, another monster planned for the Dungeon just about has its art finished, so that's only an update or two away.
that is great news with the update! But what about the stability issues that many of us still are facing? If the coming update only addresses these in a "modest" way, when to expect improvements in that respect?
It's a bumpy road for us at the moment. Keeping people playing the game is the priority, but when I started getting reports of 4.0 testers not getting more than a level or two into the game without guaranteed crashing, every time, I got worried. 1.03 has been hailed as bug-free by some, tolerably unstable by others. I have crash reports auto-submitted to me by Apple telling me I still have work to do in this area, and a good third of the remaining crashes in 1.03 have been resolved for 1.04. I hope you understand my priorities, though. Had I spent this week on resolving known crashes, I could reduce another third of these crashes and allow current players to play 4 subsequent games without crashing instead of three, and the crashes would largely be recoverable as they have been. The same week spent understanding how the game will operate once 4.0 is rolled out could prevent 100% of players from crashing constantly, with recovery from crashes buying, perhaps, another dungeon level's worth of play before another crash. Stuff like the gingerbread man can be knocked out in an hour, and our designer Keith can make balance changes on his own, for the most part. So, I do and will continue to try to keep even the most infrastructure-oriented updates with some fun new stuff to see. To actually answer your question: As soon as I can.
Also, we've just added a new item to the game: The Wood Sword. The Wood Sword is a practice weapon that the Crusader now begins the game with. Its damage is comparable to that of the Dagger, but its damage range is wider, and it's significantly more accurate. The downside is that it cannot backstab and never gets random critical hits. The Wood Sword will be in the game for 1.04!
Good to hear things are moving along, keeping this on my device because I like to watch games grow through updates. Certainly excited to see this one becoming something special.
I'm happy to hear about your progresses and new contents in 100R. Like others said i'm costantly keeping an eye on the game to see its updates coming out. Just one question: are you changing something about the food consumption mechaninc? I'm asking this because i didn't read anything more know since a few weeks ago, and personally i'd be very glad to see some changes in it (i.e. more food available or something else), 'cause during my last gaming sessions it was the factor the made me constantly knock out. As always, keep up your good work!
And the answer that has been posted a couple of times on the last two pages is: Confirmed in update description here:
By the way, I just remembered this - created in Feb of 2008, right as we were getting started with 100 Rogues. I present you with TALES OF THE ADVENTURER.
To paraphrase The Incredibles, "if every update is special, then no update is special". The really wild stuff is in the works, don't worry, but we'll keep things interesting in the meantime. You should see some of the art and design Keith and Blake are churning out!

i've lost an eye on this game for weeks, are the crashes fixed? what is the worst case scenario crashes/glitches for 3rd gen ipod touchs?
Remember: You don't have to be good at drawing; we'll be judging your submissions on the quality/comedy of the concept, more than artistic skill.
Most of the major crash issues (such as shields) have been fixed, although there are still occasional mishaps. A few notable (and known) issues: -Sometimes if you quit and resume the game, it starts over the floor -Right after character selection, if you tap the screen before the introduction shows up, it will freeze and give you a blank screen with music. Performance is generally better.
