This happens for me if I tap the screen at all right after selecting my character and before it loads the intro. It happens almost 100% of the time and has done so since 1.00. Considering that most of the bugs people have mentioned are relatively minor and not gamebreaking, I think that there has been improvement. Personally, I have been very satisfied with my 100 Rogues experience (with the exception of some touch sensitivity/confusion when playing the Fairy).
I'm not on 4.0 beta. I just recreated it by doing what SkyMuffin said (tapping on the screen after choosing my character), so that must be what is causing it. I get a black screen with a loading spinner and then just a black screen. I can still hear the intro music.
This was happening to me also this update.I found reseting the iPod fixed it, and I haven't seen it sine. Hope this helps. Also concerning the random teleport, either balance it another way(my wish), or give us a message to tell us this a bug. Also a message after using the increase strength scrolls would be good to. Everytime I use them I'm scared they aren't working because the animation almost looks too small and short to be legit.
Vinvy, I've just started a bunch of games to test it and indeed it only occurs when you tap on the screen more than once when confirming your character choice. To clarify, it never happens when you choose your character with only two taps. Once to choose and once to confirm.
Question for those who've spent siginificant (i.e. 5+ hours) time with the 1.0.3 version. How is it? Bug free? Crash free? Almost? Thoughts? Wait longer?
Slidetoplay updated their review: http://www.slidetoplay.com/story/100-rogues-review still 2 out of 4 points
Slide to play states That sums it up for me too... although I see some progress with the game, all of these bugs should have been eliminated before the release... and not weeks after it. For those who want to wait until the game is really ready: wait a little longer, IMO!
actually i recorded this bug very early on ive sent wes a huge list of bugs he definantly knows about this one lol.
Well, three patches later and the game is still running poorly and crashing inevitably. It's especially insulting considering this is one of my more expensive apps, and it simply sits way in the back, forever untouched (except to try new patches). I know, I know, the devs are inexperienced and they'll fix it eventually but it's still no excuse for selling an entirely unplayable game. Oh, and before someone asks, yes, I always try this game on fresh boots, so it's not a problem on my end. On top of that, I'm using the latest iPod (3rd gen, 32 GB) so it's most certainly not an issue of outdated hardware.
It's the Humble spell. When you cast it you'll get +20 armor, but when it wear off you'll get -40 armor. Repeatable if you're looking for a real challenge
It's far from an entirely unplayable game and I have yet to encounter a crash after the latest patch. I don't quite follow what the price of the app has to do with anything, or are you saying that 100 rogues is too expensive?
after last patch i have not played because of renaming bug and now it is still there. waiting for the next patch.
Even if i respect your point of view, sorry but i can't agree with you. As others said here, with this new patch crashes report are very few. Personally, i play a lot and never, never had a crash, so how can it be? The bugs afflicting the game are absolutely minor bugs, and in my personal opinion don't alter the fun and the game experience, and definitely it's not an "unitirely unplayable games". Also, you say developers are "inexperienced". Are you a programmer? A game developer? I'm not, and i got maximum respect for people like them who makes games, apps and all that sort of things, learning programming and coding that most of us hate to do or will never do. I think it's unfair call them inexperienced, since they're clearly demonstrating through continuous posting here and in PM that are doing their best to fix all the issues as fast as they can, and they are REALLY capable in creating games. About the price, i could say that it's not "insulting" as you say, since i've seen really obscene apps in the Store at a higher price, or at least games at the same price that offer no match, no fun, no help from developers and most important NO update and bug resolving. This is what i think about.
yesterday, i did an entire go with the new patch till Satan. Here are the bugs I encountered - when I beat the the first boss, the screen flashed (as expected) but then, my hero did the "you are dead"-animation even though I had 22 hp! Then, the game crashed. When I resumed, I had to start the level again, so I had to do the boss again. - stack bug: I had three throwing knives and picked up another two. This ended in having only a single knife. The rest vanished. - movement: I sometimes could leave the dungeon by walking through walls. When the game seems to have noticed this, I was automatically put back on the path - but it looks really silly. - the skeletons spawned 4 times instead of 3 (someone mentioned that before) - animation bug: I threw a knife at Satan, then I used a Wand from distance. The game still showed throwing knife animation instead of the magic beam of the wand. - The game crashed once when walking through a dungeon (this is an improvement compared to older versions but still...) In sum, still very buggy (I am on an iPhone 3G with 16GB, non-JB, with FW 3.13). I will give the update a 2-star rating on iTunes and will not recommend until the devs come up with a stable version that I actually would have been expected from the beginning (there are lots of indie devs that proof that a good and stable game is possible right from the start). When (if ever?) such a patch is released, I will give a good rating on iTunes...
OH MY GOD I COULD KISS YOU! Ugh, I've been trying every possible combination of equip armor, enchant armor, close menu, reload game, etc., imaginable trying to track that down.
Ran through several more games. Only thing odd I've seen so far, in one game I beat death at the last second with a potion, but the "dying music" played anyway and KEPT playing over and over even though I was still playing, running around killing things. Eventually I really did die and the game exited normally. Still NO crashes.
