Couple of bugs after the newest batch I ran into. I'm writing these down before I forget them, so apologies if they are mentioned before. 1) Enchant Armor bug I had a Leather Armor equipped and Robes in the inventory. I found an Enchant Armor Scroll and used it on equipped Leather Armor. My stats didn't change. When I equipped Robes, my evasion went down by one point. Could it be that the Enchant Armor scroll gives you a global -1 to armor and evasion? This is then offset by the +1 it gives to armor and evasion of the enchanted armor, but when you wear something else you get your stats reduced by 1. On the other hand, when wearing Robes after enchanting Leather, only the evasion went to 4 from 5, whereas armor stayed at 0. 2) Rock and Throwing Knife bug I had two Throwing Knives in my quickbar and 16 rocks in my inventory. I threw my Knives to enemies and after the battle proceeded to pick up both knives plus a rock (which I unfortunately can't remember if I threw it or if it was dropped by an enemy). Knives went to my quick bar like they should, but when I picked up the lonely rock, both knives from my quickbar and 16 rocks from my inventory vanished, never to be seen again. The lonely rock was gone too.
Thank to the devs for not going the WoW way of "content" and just making tons of items with different names but same stats. The future looks good, based on Wes's post And - in a wierd way? - I think it's great there's some unfairness in using of teleport
Is it intentional that the Purify spell saves the healing ticks for later, if you're fully healed? What I mean that if you have 3 points of damage and cast Purify, it'll heal those 3 points in the next tick, and the rest of the healing ticks will start ticking when you are damaged next time. Also, when should Purify tick? Before your movement, after you've attacked or after enemy has attacked?
wow... new update is out and all I read is about lots of bugs. I think this game holds a sad record in this respect. @devs what does this update do for stability of the game? I don't care too much about new weapons, how often skeletons spawn etc. at this point in time, but the game needs to run stable. Is it fixing the memory issues of the game?
Ok, this analysis is not correct. I found a +1 Chain which should give 13 armor and -4 evasion. I equipped it and it gave 12 armor and the evasion amount I'm not sure about. Then I used an Enchant Armor scroll on it and now it gives 12 armor and -4 evasion, even though it says in description it should give 14 armor and -3 evasion as a +2 Chain. When I change to a normal Robe, it's 0 armor and -4 evasion. Also, I had a +3 Bow equipped and I tried to throw a Net from my inventory. My character shot an arrow instead. I tried again and the same happened. I tried with a Net in my quickbar and I'm still shooting arrows instead of throwing Net. When I equip a melee weapon, net-throwing works. It's been a wierd run so far: I've gotten three +2 daggers, a bow of stopping and a wand of slowing, plus an axe and tower shield
(not dev response but) It does seem to be pretty stable. That is, it hasnt crashed on me yet, but I havent played a huge amount of games today (3 or 4?). No long playing sessions either, but the phone seems to be a little bit cooler in my hand Anyone else's experience on 10.0.3?
I find it pretty stable too. Some bugs are still there (like a random one that prevents you to return to main menu after you've posted your highscore online), but i've seen no crash so far, and the overall playing experience seems good to me.
It seems like some of these bugs (the high score main menu button, the armor enchantment and quick slots) have been persistent since 1.0.0 anyway so maaaaaaaybe now the game as a whole is stable might be squashed?? So, while there are still bugs, the situation is no longer dire. Those boys have had to work hard though
im compiling a whole list of bugs to wes privately.. and yes it seems to be MORE stable. but i was walking into a room and it randomly crashed. no enemies.. no chests. just threw me out of the game. so its still there. i dont know if it has something to do with the fact that im using an Ipad or what.
We knew this was going to be a stability patch though, don't forget that. And in that respect it seems to have worked a treat (though I was noticing significant improvements in the last patch too). Bug fixes will undoubtedly come in due time, I'm just glad they've gotten on top of the game's stability so that less and less people have crashing to worry about. Curious to hear if anyone is still experiencing crashing though!
I use an iPhone 3Gs and i never had crashes, only the random "Main Menu" button bug. As Windburn said this is a stability update, and personally i think stability it's the most important thing now. As for crashes like Starcat has, could really be the device used, or something completely different; IMO i think there are many variables to consider. Sure it's not an easy task for the developers, since these variables seems to change for everyone (and i tell you that coming from PC MMOs where bugs and problems where on the daily agenda and sometimes weeks of hard work were required for things to work properly, and remember i'm talking of BIG software companies, with hundreds of people behind...), but from what i've seen so far, i.e. the dedication and passion of the devs behind this project, i'm sure that things will be fine very soon.
No crashes here! I've played maybe three hours or so now. One graphical(?) bug though: I have +2 bow and +3 wand. After using the bow and picking up an arrow, I changed to the wand. My next attack saw me throwing an arrow towards enemy and missing it. After that I could attack with the wand. Happened couple of times and I had more than one arrow in my inventory. The sound effect was the one you hear when you attack with the wand.
Some sort of armor bug is still there. Suddenly I noticed my armor was at -13 and stayed there, no matter how much time passed. It was dungeon levels already and I had encountered ghost beetles plus I had use - in separate occasion - the Humble spell of the Paladin.
I encountered some bugs as well during my 15 minutes of play... First, the game did not load a floor properly. The game did not go on at the "floor cleared" stage of the loading screen. I had to reset... Second, at some point (second floor I think) I noticed that my health and mana would not recover automatically when moving around. At the same time, the belly did not go down either... So these stats seem to be "frozen". The game still seems to be quite bug-loaded to me. Will try it later on again.
Stack bug: I had a stack of 2 throwing knives in my quickbar. I picked up a stack of 3 throwing knives and all knives vanished.
I've been trying to recreate that stack bug since Vinvy first mentioned it. I've tried stacking rocks, throwing knives, and arrows, placing them both in my quickbar and inventory slots. I've never encountered that problem so far. Perhaps there's a certain thing that you must do before triggering the bug. What I did notice were black spots/tiles popping in and out, but I've only encountered those only once after playing maybe ten sessions. Also, I occasionally experience some pausing/lagging for about two to three seconds long, as if the game was trying to load something. Reliability wise, I have yet to see the game crash.
I've encountered this bug in all released versions of 100 Rogues. I choose New Game and I get a black screen. I hear the introduction music but the intro does not play.
Hrm, that's unusual and unfortunate. If you could provide any more information, it would help me solve the issue more quickly. By any chance are you running the 4.0 beta? Does this happen right when you hit new game, or after character selection? Do the menu buttons or the background fade to black or does the screen just go blank instantly? Does a loading spinner appear in the middle of the screen for any period of time?
BIG fan of this game. Made a couple runs last night with the new update and had no issues what so ever (3g iPod Touch). Gotta say the "drops" have really improved. I got all kinds of great stuff. Keep pluggin' away you guys, yer fighting the good fight.
