I try and try again... always crashing. Now, as soon as I try to equip a certain wooden shield. EDIT: No, it's with every shield now And I already rebooted the device. Going back to Sword of Fargoal now.
Let me know if it works. Another person posted in this thread and said it's been working perfectly fine on his iPad.
I have a iPod Touch 2g and experienced a crash on level 2 fighting bandits. The continue button was there when I went back on and resumed my game.
Why is it that every iPhone game that's released - no matter how much time and hard work was put into them - is released, plagued with bugs and crashes?! I've been anticipating this game since it was announced and I had a mini freak-out when it was released, and now I can't even play it. D:
Thanks for posting, Blake. These are not "errant" bugs we're experiencing -- they happen consistently and early on in the game. As Kunning suggested, they may very well be device specific, but for people with 3Gs and 3rd Gen devices, they're game-killing. I think you want to get a hold of your partners as soon as possible.
The same thing happens with console and PC games. It's the downside to the enormous complexity of modern day game developing. No amount of beta testers could possibly comb over every single possible outcome of events and pick up on all the bugs, the biggest team of testers you get is the general public. They'll complain and make a fuss, but also give you valuable information on where it went wrong... then you fix it.
Don't equip shields (for now) Wes Paugh, our programmer, should be posting soon. He told me on the phone he has located what he believes is causing the crash and it's a problem with the shield anim. files. I don't believe it has anything to do with current gen iphones. Until our patch (which should implemented in the next day) just avoid equipping shields. We're terribly sorry for the inconvenience.
I have a 2G and have had some crashing. And come to think of it - it was with a shield. I think I will lay off equipping those until we get to the bottom of it because it is a very FUN game!
Heh, yeah. For me, every time I spend $5 for a game (ESPgaluda 2, and now 100 Rogues) I can't play it when I buy it! But when I spend nothing (free game) or 99 cents, games work perfectly.
I always reboot before playing major games. Yeah, not too much of a problem for me since that continue button was still there. Anyway, your hypothesis seems mostly correct.
Thank goodness. I really hope the patch goes live soon. The game is fantastic, but the crashes make it unplayable.
I still haven't had a problem and I have played this on my ipad, 2g touch and 3g touch. Of course, I have not used any shields yet. I will say that I find the game much easier to control on the ipad due to the amount of space. I do find myself doing things I don't intend to do on the touch systems due to the size of the screen.
You should probably wait for an update. But as soon as the crashing is fixed, get this game! It's a ton of fun when you can actually play it.
Well, it looks awesome on my iPad. But the game still crashes -- will avoid the shield on my next game to see if that keeps it from crashing. Did I mention that it looks awesome on an iPad?
