It's a bit of a balance. Ideally, on average, you should have enough time to checkout a level and not worry about starving, but with the random factor, some games you'll have excess food so you can take your time and others, where you don't happen onto food, you'll have to keep it snappy. I like how it adds an interesting time management variable where you'll need to adapt your play style to your current food supply and not simply ASSUME you can do it the same way each time you play.
May I suggest a price reduction until the bugs are fixed? I just think a cheaper price for an unfinished game is fair, at least until it's more like what it should be. Please don't think I'm being rude with these comments - I don't mean them to be - I'm just selfish and want it cheaper!
And all the ones that are playing already having paid full price will be on your doorstep staging a riot I can guarantee you that - or at least in your PM box. Yeah I do understand this totally. I am just trying to sort out the comments that suggest you rush from the comments that say go find this armorment, etc. I do like to cover every area of a map before moving on since I feel that gives me the experience I need to face the next level. But yeah sometimes I find I need to get to the exit and fast because I have no food source. (insert more ramblings here...) Bottom line, I like the game and like to figure out strategies.
Goddamn that is a terrible terrible joke I agree. Until we get the exploits straightened out and actually make it possible to kill Satan, lets tell everyone to rush in and commit suicide! This dev is unbelievable.
Uh, not lie to paying customers? Admit your mistakes, reassure people that you're on top of it and that the scoreboards are going to get wiped so exploiters won't be forever on top? Edit: cause wasting over an hour playing and then dying because the creator of the game lied to you is a little annoying
You're right. I'm literally weeping for your loss, you played a rouguelike and died. Cruel world. Now back to the real world. It was a joke, and a couple of people took it literally. It doesn't make the developer a liar. He posted back several times apologizing and explaining it was a joke, get over it already.

Yep, you got it...every immature patron is complaining about a silly joke made known by the developer. How can you think that was serious? The enviornment of the game is humorous/sarcastic, just play the game as you think is correct, but you only have 100 rogues to play the game, then you can't play anymore.
Sheng Long is in 100 Rogues. He's one of the question marks on the character select screen. But you need to beat the game by only eating rotten meat. You also need to net at least 30 red rats and name your character Sushi X.
Terribly sorry that I haven't been around for every single page of this over 80 page thread to hear the dev say it was a joke, but enough pages for people to reiterate it as truth. How could I take it seriously? Because it sounds like a legitimate option: go faster so your character is slightly less powerful, but as a reward the final boss is weaker. Oh yea, and cause it wasn't funny. You know, like a joke.
Just because you think it wasn't funny, doesn't mean others automatically don't find it funny. Seriously, you're getting way to worked up over this. Chill out, and go kill some more of your rogues instead
It all depends on your perspective my friend if a person thinks if its funny or not. Its humorous , sure. Have you tried it yourself?
I'm only annoyed because people keep trying to justify something that was obviously a very ill conceived attempt at damage control by the dev. I mean both of you have responded saying "no it's still a joke even if you don't find any humor in it". Want to point it out for me? Unless it's something like "it's funny to make people throw themselves at the boss while seriously under equipped and leveled", I don't get it.
Emphasis added. It seemed pretty clear to me he was kidding. It's hard to remember sometimes that things like humor and sarcasm are difficult to get across via an internet forum post.
