What were the results? When I did it i had 5 HP, went down to floor 2 and was killed by a blue rat in 2 hits. Also it would be appreciated if the dev would reset the leaderboards after the next update, corrupt leaderboards always ruin the fun imo.
A problem with armor: I found a +3 Leather with stats of 8 Armor and 15 Evasion. When I equipped it, it showed only "Armor: 5" but "Evade: 15" in my Stats. Later on I found and equipped +3 Robes with 3 Armor, 8 Evasion and 15 Magic Resistance. Both Evade and Magic Resistance updated correctly in the stats, but my Armor went down to -6. When I now equip the +3 Leather my Armor stat is -1. You can drag items out of inventory boundaries in the inventory screen and that makes them drop on the ground. Heh, I wondered a bit what your last line in that post, "Really. >_>", was about @MikeV At Armor numbers over 300 no physical harm came to my way. Backstabbing monsters scored just big zeroes.
I had 319 armour. (Because I stopped at that point, could have been more.) I completed the game with no monster doing above 0 melée damage. Magic damage was as normal.
Perhaps you can buy a different game where non-roguelike fans can play a game that isn't a roguelike. I like the sound of that. The one near the corner has the advantage right? With the one in the open being more vulnerable. That's the sort of tactical gaming that would totally do it for me, though I can see other people complaining... but what's new.
Ok, sorry for sticking out my boo-boo lip a bit on that post. You have been far more responsive than the vast majority of developers to player concerns. Thanks for listening.
I see your point, I think. At first, I was skipping too many turns, and now not enough. I will go for a balance. Thanks for the advice.
As I logged on today to post some thoughts, I couldn't help but notice that this game has inspired over 700 posts in less than a week. Clearly, there is something special about 100 Rogues. It has that indescribable mix of personality, style, and gameplay that is hands-down more fun (to me) than any other roguelike to date. Any frustration I have conveyed has been due to the fact that this game is so very close to being a true classic, and when something gets that close, we all start jumping up and down and waving our arms like ninnies in an effort to bring it across the finish line. So, Dinofarm Games, it's time to slug down some gatorade because I don't think we're going to give you a moment's rest until it's done. Now, if you'll excuse me, my crusader is starving in some dungeon and I have to get back to him.
Are there only 2 characters for us to choose from, cause what are the 2 "?" next to the other characters.
Is it just me that thinks that this game takes a huuuge difficulty leap after the 1st boss? Like, from the point white skeletons appear, I have to kill them 3 times, and sometimes even with a +0 dagger or +0 wand, which makes it take ages (if I don't get ganged and killed).
I agree. It might help if you could linger on the prevous levels to gain some extra experience. However the "2000 turns or less to kill Satan" and the food mechanic make this unviable.
This was only just confirmed to be a joke from the dev himself, so don't worry about the 2000 turns. I doubt that'd be remotely possible to get in any case
well, just 6 times in a row teleport was doing random things. too often for such major part of gameplay like telestabbing.
I made a suggestion long ago to deal with this issue. To have an exp/score "decay" once you've killed a certain amount of respawns on one floor. Right now, hunger is the countermeasure to hanging on one floor and grinding, but if someone gets lucky and finds a bunch of food, it might be exploited.
I don't see why that would be an exploit though. In a system influenced by chance, that would merely be the flipside of not finding enough food and having your game cut short early. Exploit is what's currently happening with equipping/unequipping shields.
Agree with this, after the genie the skeletons are way too hard, having to kill them 3 times is a bit much and there's no guarantee of having decent gear by then. Tone it down a little devs?
exactly, honestly ive never had a problem finding enoigh food, even in games where its scarce... its a good system and part of the game, people sholdnt expect a developer to mold their game in your immage. the skelly problem, if the killing blow is magic they dont regen, so they have a weakness. I also noticed if you tap outside the designated teleport areas it randomly teleports you, correct me if im wrong
