How about upgrading the weapon name every 5 points or something? We're wandering into Pokemon territory here, but some kind of weapon evolution would give me a greater feeling of achievement than mere numbers.
@diegomclima That happened to me few times. In the game I'm currently playing I changed my targeting order and that maybe did it. One bug I just found: I updated the game and continued my last game. In the early Dungeon levels I found a +1 Heater. Now, I equipped the Heater and went merrily forward, changing from a bow to the sword and shield now and then. In the dungeon level 4 I noticed I didn't get any damage at all from those big, blue knights, and when I viewed my stats I had over 100 armor. I fiddled around a bit and noticed that every time I drag the +1 Heater away from the equipment slot, and then back, I get its armor value of 8 added to my Armor score. I don't even have to unequip it, just drag it away from the shield box. I have also a Magic Shield in my inventory but it works like it should. The hardest part for me is the moral dilemma I'm facing: should I now go on with my unearthly amount of armor and possibly play through the game once, or just start over for fair playthrough experience
Oh, just thought about it that if this is a reproducible bug, maybe it would be fair to reset the online scores. Just a thought.
It's a very, very complicated formula but I'll try to sum it up here SCORE = EXPERIENCE =] Well, we're going to have very rare UNIQUES at some point soon. So you could have: "Keith's MonsterDagger" and "Tommy's Super Axe".
You should try to take out Satan! As soon as possible. If you get to him in under 2000 turns, he deals physical damage instead of his usual (un)godly damage, so your armor will be effective. Really. >_>
What do you mean by changing the targeting order? BTW, do you guys think too that playing with the mage is MUCH easier than with the warrior? Teleport is EVERYTHING
@WesPaugh Well, if I get "ok" from one of the developers of the game, it doesn't feel that bad morally @diegomclima I sent you pm, because I'm not 100% sure if it's ok to give spoilers here in the game thread
An eventual sale is inevitable, I'd say. It'll be a team decision whenever it's made, but I can safely speak for all of us when I say 'almost certainly not in the next six months'.
Argh, one week in and you already announced a potential sale? Way to lose image in my book, specially with words like "almost certainly", means, well, no certainty which means it could be sooner, which means makes it even less worth it to have purchased the 1st bug filled release... o well... And no, sales are NEVER inevitable... it is that dev's mentality that makes the appstore like it is, filled with people asking for sales...
To be honest - 4.99 is a steal for this! I applaud your involvement and your efforts and truly hope that people see that you have proven your trustworthiness and hit that buy button. I know that being burned by devs that abandon apps make people leery sometimes that it might happen again but the fact that not only you, but the rest of your team are here fielding questions proves how much you are dedicated to making this the best it can be and then some.
Yes yes yes! Tele-stabbing is just pure win in the bandit hole (with a decent dagger, that is). I wish it held up in the dungeon though... need to add some strength points maybe...
I dunno, every game ever has eventually gone down in price. I can maybe think of exceptions where flagship nintendo titles are discontinued before sales happen, but I think those often get reduced into a greatest hits collection. We're definitely not doing it tomorrow, and probably not in six months, either, but it's not entirely my call, is all I mean.
Dude, a sale 6 months time isn't gonna kill you. People usually get annoyed when a game goes on sale 7 days after being released, but half a year is more than reasonable. They've got every right to adjust the price as they see fit, and they're doing the right thing by giving it some time before considering it. That said, I don't think the game really needs one. Once the bugs are fixed it'll have the same shine of quality I see in Illusion Labs' games, and they don't succumb to price drops.
Think of what he said - in SIX MONTHS! That falls right in with the holiday period believe it or not. That is when everyone is flocking to see what is on sale for Black Friday etc. This is an epic game that in my book doesn't need a sale ever. But they aren't talking about tomorrow or anything - he said 6 months!
Keep added great content at steady pace and you should never have to drop price. There is a lot of quality put into this game and I personally think the price is more than worth what your getting out of playing 100 Rogues. I say if you were to down the line, then do it when you implement the other character classes. Make them DLC to "Support the Dev(s)". My personal verdict though=DAMN A SELL!
Honestly, at this point I'm more concerned about the bug fixes than any potential price drops. Sale or no sale, I just wish for those bugs to be fixed, so we can move on to the goodies that the devs have in store for us.
an invisible d-pad is still a d-pad...you said you think d-pads hinder a game..so no my argument is not invalid.. you didnt say ZOMG I DONT LIKE THE WAY D-pads look! you said it doesnt belong on the iphone.. my counter point was to play zenonia 2 without it. try again.
I'm sure it won't, it just bothers me to see those kinds of comments so early on, normally is not a good thing (Space Miner also said that was gonna hold at least 6 months until the 1st sale, and they couldn't keep that, and they also said that in like, the upcoming part of the forums). I'm just saying, if you're not planning on it, don't think of it, or consider it, that way you make people feel as if you don't really need it. I personally, like you, think the game doesnt need one either, it just needs more polish, and if they commit to their word on the updates, then that compensates the need for a sale, short term sales is what makes the appstore have the price it has on most games @.@.
