NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! So it appears that somehow all of the Challenges got lost with our latest push. Sincerest apologies about that! However, at least it's an extra-feature of sorts; hopefully the main game is far more playable for you all now? Your Challenges will be back for 1.02, which I'm pretty sure we will be pushing to Apple tomorrow. You guys deserve something awesome for putting up with our shenanigans!
Ouch lol. I had one instance when one of those witches (for the lack of their real name) teleport switched me into the middle of about 10 monsters.
The same issues arise even after the re installation. I want to remind this: Every time I start a new game, if I dont actually touch the box with the name I ve already typed in a previous session and press "done" on the keypad, and instead just double tap on the avatar's picture, the game always gives a black screen(the same as pre-update). Sure, minor annoyance, but come on! Things like that should have been ironed out. Considering the above-average asking price, this is difficult to ignore - I have faith though that the devs will figure this out, the game is full of potential and is already good even with its problems.
So, what suggestions are there with regards to the hunger system? I waited until the last minute before eating and refilling my hunger but ended up dying later on as I didn't come across another snack. I would rather the hunger sap at your mana (or make you unable to cast special skills) than sap at your health.
There is Roasted Food in both the Genie's level and Satan's level. What level did you die on? I play a good amount and rarely ever starve - just keep moving. Do you rest often, because that takes up a lot of food. Not a bad idea, although what about a Crusader who just goes straight up combat (weapon focus, heavy armaments, STR UP)? Food would be a meaningless mechanic to him, and therefore he could level up indefinitely and break the game.
Why not let it sap up to a certain percentage of health an mana? So a hungry player can't fill their lifebar past 70% or something. So it's a big penalty but not game ending and something you want to avoid/remedy quickly.
I'm 43. I've texted maybe 3 times in my life. And I generally hate virtual dpads. My dpad request is based on the following: 1) The current scheme is basically a large dpad surrounding the character. It is awkward though, because you either have to constantly move your thumb all over the place, often obscuring your vision of the central area, or use two fingers. Neither is great. 2) There is plenty of space for a virtual dpad because the central circle is real viewing area anyway. Dpad requests will continue because the current scheme is Ok, but not ideal. Neither is the dpad, but it would be a viable option to many people. UPDATE: Oh nooooo... I just read that the new version is still buggy and busted. *argh* :-(
The new update has fixed the crashing, but now I'm noticing tons of missing tiles, and there's a weird glitch where enemies stand on top of eachother. Also, once I tried attacking an enemy and I moved over him instead.
Finaly made it to the dungeon . The monsters realy do hit hard. Is there a set amount of monsters on each floor or do they respawn?
Yep, challenge mode is gone alright... Oh well, if I can wait a year, I sure can wait for the next update The game worked flawlessly, without those black spots mentioned earlier. The game hasn't crashed at all, even with a shield equipped, until I died at level 6. I can confirm, however, that the music ceases to play when continuing the game from sleep mode. However, when I tried starting a new game, the game did stall during load time, prior to starting the first level. It was like a black screen of death of sorts. Some minor bugs/suggestions: - When you drag an item from the inventory to the quick slots, the item tends to get stuck in the space/gap between the two. So you'll have to exit and enter the inventory again and select "add" to properly transfer it. - A quicker, more obvious, and easier alternative of disposing unwanted items form the items inventory - Right after I died, I quickly drank a healing potion. The game was ending, and while the screen was slowly fading away like it should, I saw my character rise up again. But the game continued to end, of course
It starts out populated, and then once the population gets below a certain % of that, they begin to respawn. Not sure exactly what you mean; but I always use the ADD button for that.
Gaaaaaaaah, iTunes you, you .... 2 hours to download the update! Damn you servers.... damn you allllllll ><
NOOOOOOO!!!! I got like 30,000 points and died and it crashed and my score didn't get posted! D: My previous highscore was like 7,000, so that's a big deal to me. I'm extremely mad, especially since the update said that it fixed that! And why doesn't the "post scores" button actually POST YOUR SCORES????
I wonder, for how many updates people will say, this is a fantastic game besides all these (many) bugs. Never saw a thread THIS tolerant - or positively blind. I got the feeling, it's similar to the Minigore fan community, where you get promised fantastic updates for ages. And if you are a bit more critical there, people burn you. I'm still a bit sad about having spend some bucks on a game that buggy. It really seems, there is still A LOT of stuff to do from the devs side (who hopefully will work together with Commander Data as much as they can and he wants) and releasing a game in such a state is simply not cool, regardless of some sweet fresh graphics. This is really a snuggle thread. The devs are very lucky
This is not a snuggle thread, the game is just that good! The devs are here working on making the game better and communicating. This is obviously q game that is going to get a lot of updates and attention from them. I love when a dev actually listens and communicates. To many don't or make false promises. Cough...deliverace...cough. I would rather have the game as is than wait around for 2 more months. Think of it like a beta test or as someone se said a preorder demo. Btw, do you even have the game? If so I don't know how you are not addicted. We true rogue fans are used to starting over anyway...
What I meant was, the moment I tried dragging an item outside the inventory box towards the direction of the bottom part of the screen (headed towards the quick slots), the item gets permanently stuck, unless you exit the inventory and enter it again. I think the item transfer and disposal issue should be addressed as one problem, as people might get confused. Since being able to pick up and drag an item in the inventory box does give you the idea that you can drag it all the way to the quick slots. It's actually fine if you can't do that via drag-and-drop, but make sure those items won't get stuck when someone tries to do so (especially for the first time). Or, perhaps just completely disable the function of being able to drag an item, and then add a "drop" button alongside "add" button? Then an "unequip" button if you want to unequip an armor, weapon, shield, or accessory. Another suggestion is being able to compound similar items into one inventory slot, instead of occupying so much inventory space. Like stones and potions? For example, I pick up a set of seven arrows, Then I pick up another set of three arrows. Can't I just group them all together into one slot? Perhaps being able to compound a maximum of twenty arrows into one slot will do.
Indeed, well there are a manner of approaches one could take, such as the one Vegan posted. Another possibility is with every turn taken the enemies take two turns.
You yourself answered your 1st paragraph, have you read minigore's topic? Either way, yes, it is annoying that the game is buggy, yes it makes me feel I should have bought it as it was a leap of faith on a no sale from the devs, but if they keep the bugs coming probably they'll say "omg we're losing people, we need a sale to get them back" which then will have everyone pissed their minds off. But well, I am still playing the game, I am enjoying it, I hate that (at least in v.1) if I went out of the game mid boss, it saved my hp/mp/items etc, but I had to restart the boss, and ofc, crashing and getting yourself into a wall, but, hey, they actually managed to submit an update in 24 hrs, they promised another one tomorrow, which means, if they keep up to it, this will become something that minigore never will: actually worth it. My money is already gone in this, do I lose anything by having faith in the devs? I think not.
I have it from hour one, since I am a fan of roguelikes (SoF is my fav game of all time), and I simply couldn't get addicted with all these bugs (crashing constantly). Exactly that's why I wonder. Yes, it could be a sweet game (not the most brilliant masterpiece ever, though) and I'm still hoping to not have wasted some money for a public beta (this is a bad joke, really, you guys can stand behind that idea?). And it's clearly not the only thread, where the dev is communicating. There are MANY threads with working games where you discuss with the devs on feature updates and not about when you get a game, which is worth the asking price. So, your statement is the perfect proof for my "snuggle" argument. Please don't take it personal. I really just don't understand.
