This may help... I noticed to crash almost immediate when equipping a buckler(circular shield) opposed to equipping the tower shield. I am actually able to play further with the shield animation before crashing. CommanderData's post did make a huge difference in closing out and refreshing your memory when entering the next level/on the next level. To help out any members that may not know...I recommend HIGHLY looking in to System Activity Monitor. This program is as simple as hitting the refresh button to free up your memory so you do not have to restart your device. I have used it since day one, and from experience...it is my most used app. I use it on the fly after just about every thing I do on my iTiouch. It executes very quickly and saves a lot of time from having to re-boot. I hope this helps. Description: You can view: - Runtime (RAM) memory usage - Storage (Disk) usage - All running processes - CPU usage - WiFi IP address - Device information To free memory, touch the Free Memory button. It will free up memory for use by your other apps and games. Memory on the iPhone and iPod Touch are limited to 128MB or 256MB of RAM. This memory must be shared with other background processes and apps. Apps like Mail, Safari and iPod continue running in the background even after you have closed them, consuming precious RAM. Have you experienced your games or apps quitting on you? Could it because they ran out of memory? Use the Free Memory button to free up memory before playing your memory intensive games or apps! http://appshopper.com/utilities/system-activity-monitor
That last part I can agree with, but generally when I see a game on the App Store with an ugly and/or boring icon I assume it's some sort of crap (because it usually is) and I was just expecting this game to have a more interesting icon. It doesn't affect my opinion of the game at all, but I would at least like to see some sort of texture or something behind it instead of just a plain white background.
I think the icon is very cool. I like seeing that "@." For anyone who knows about roguelikes, it's kind of a cool little thing to see. And it's clean, and it just looks nice to me.
I like it due to it's simplicity(one of my favorites in fact). How an icon can kill a game for someone really baffles me.
I never said it kills the game for me. In fact, in my last post I said that it doesn't affect my opinion of the game itself.
Ok, after several crashes I followed CommanderData advice, and I didn't have any crash, just a violent dead poisoned by a rat. I also experienced a crash while mesing with the inventory. I was trying to throw some armor that had twice but I could not throw it. Probably you can only throw it at some enemy, I didn't check yet because while trying to get rid of the armor I had a crash. I didn't touch any shield and I am running the game on an iPad.
Yeah guys, I want to psuedo apologize. I have a couple young'ns and am working on honesty issues. I'm trying to make them understand that no matter what they've done they'll get in less trouble if they tell the truth. So I smelled a rat and called 'em on it. Unfortunately I'm also quitting smoking and am pretty bitchy =) I apologize for coming off as a douchebag, but I certainly don't regret being offended at dishonesty. But devs, I do like this game, I've been in rough spots before, and bills don't pay themselves. I wish you guys the best and hope it's an easy fix!
Bugs etc etc.... Their working on them and judging by their comments on the dev forums they care about this game and are going to straighten things out. Now let's talk about the game. Anyone got any particular strategys or parts of the game they like. Personally I'm looking for tips on challenge mode 7. The one with the 3 red rats called bak beasts. I can't seem to posistion the rats so that I can take them all out with whack or use a combo of the energy pot grenade have enough mana to survive the rats. Any suggestions out there?
Has anybody noticed the missing background tiles or were they mentioned already? I played the game a few hours ago, saved, now loaded it and there are black spots everywhere with missing textures.
funny comments about developers apologizing etc. what u expect, that they will say fu customers, we are not fixing it?
While this is neat, it needlessly eats up the batteries! Chalk me up as someone who prefers landscape mode games, but I'd be perfectly happy with portrait mode with this game if they brought swipe-to-move in as an option (so I can hold my iPod one-handed and play with just my thumb.)
I agree. While swipe to move is nice, it is not even CLOSE to being required for one-hand gaming. One hand-gaming is simple as hell to begin with. I can't even recall using two hands once. Let alone two fingers.
Despite some people liking the icon, I still think it fails to stand out for the right reasons. It stands out for looking too simple, which isn't a good thing for people browsing the App Store because "too simple" is the route taken by bad apps. The only way it represents the game is the @ symbol, and there aren't enough people around who would notice the connection. What really stands out about 100 Rogues is the fantastic pixel artwork, so why it wasn't used for the icon as well is a mystery. It's by far the best-looking roguelike on the store (hell, maybe one of the best-looking ever), but looking at the icon you'd never know it. So... even if it looks nice to some, I'm not sure it's gonna pull the crowd.
