    Bad news, everyone! Despite a setback in our review process to ensure that the Rogue-Bot releases alongside the update, I'm still not seeing it in-game yet. Once the product shows up on Apple's servers, the game will automatically add the Rogue-Bot next to the Tourist (which is available now) in the coming hours. In the meantime, enjoy the Tourist and the bug / stability improvements!

    Do not update! A problem occurred with the build which does not allow play to progress past Bandit Hole 2. An update is going to Apple tonight to fix this problem. I'll remove the App from sale when first I'm able, but unfortunately I need to wait for my publisher to become available.

    BTW: A couple of days ago I played the first time on my iPad (1st gen with iOS 4.3). I encountered some bugs (v2.6):
    1. At the end of the Bandit Hole area, the fairy got hungry and I used a heal meal. After that the belly went down to 89 and then never changed again. So the hunger system somehow stopped working. I even tried to make it work again by eating some more food but that didn't work out.
    2. My score for the game was not submitted. Neither to gamecenter nor to your own boards. If I press the button "Submit Score" in the high score screen, nothing happens. I killed the app, restarted the iPad but this did not help. When starting up 100R I am always welcomed by Gamecenter though.

    I just installed v2.7 just to try the tourist class for two levels :D

    Hence, I just found a bug: I learned the "Ask for directions" skill that confuses the monster. When I use it the first time, everything works just fine. When I try to use it the second time (I have enough mana), the following happens: I click on the tourist which brings up the skill menu as normal. After that I tap on the icon for the "Ask for directions"-skill but the game does not bring up the red tile to select the target (even though there is a monster standing right in front of me). I therefore cannot cast it and can only use the skill once per game/level...

    I could easily reproduce this even with a restart between the two tries. I am on an iPhone 4, iOS 4.3, no JB.

    QC anyone? :D

    I think you can only ask directions from umm humans/bandits. Beetles and rats obviously don't understand the tourist :rolleyes:

    I think the hunger thing was addressed in 2.7 (not that you should update to find out). As a result of the change to make hunger not tick down during the boss cutscenes (which force turns to pass to make things like monster spawns happen), hunger stopped working after the Genie's intro cutscene.

    Game Center stuff, I'm not sure if its working or not, and honestly I'm not going to take the time before getting 2.8 out the door, sorry.

    I'd love to! Help us make enough money to afford it...

    Coldcoffee got it on the nose about Ask for Directions. Bandit, Black Bandit, Assassin, Sniper, Gypsy, Robot, Skeleton, Skybaby, etc..., are designated 'Smart' Monsters that can open doors, be asked for directions, be pickpocketed, etc.

    Yessum! Monster classes can use the Locker, they just can't equip items. So, if you happen to come across 4 Spellbooks whilst playing the Tourist, feel free to drop them off before the Dark Pope smites you for your good, wordly ways.

    Monster classes can use items as well, like normal Player Classes. So, they can throw items, drink potions, and even upgrade their starting equipment with enchant item / weapon scrolls.

    The inability to equip items was a conscious design and technical choice. Adding a wand means needing to add wand animations for any monster that doesn't already have something to fit the bill, for example.

    The design advantage is that changing equipment doesn't have a particularly large impact on your gameplay decisions, which is something we've strived for since day 1. If you think about it, the decision of robes versus plate versus leather can only allow for either one unquestioningly best option or perfectly balanced tradeoffs. Neither counts as an actual, meaningful, decision, and we've tried to stray from such mechanics when possible.

    Well I was playing as a Tourist last night and try as I might I could not put the buckler or wand in the locker. Everytime I tried to drag either of the items to an empty space in the locker, the NORMALLY equippable space on my guy lit up and even if dropped off on the locker, the items fell to the floor.

    Am I just not using the locker tight (I have to admit I've been out of the loop for a bit now)?

    Ahh, yes, drag'n'drop was disabled a few updates back, owing to it being exceptionally buggy (items were getting eaten). For now the tooltip buttons should do the trick. I'll be working drag'n'drop back in either 2.9 or 2.91. Oh, hey, we must be getting close to some sort of big 3.0 update...

    I've been learning tons about making proper UIs in preparation for an OSX port, so it should quick to make and better than ever, once it's back.

    I purchased the Rogue Bot IAP, but every time I try to start a new game with it, my game crashes on the loading screen (at the very beginning). =(

    I tried clearing my memory, and I also tried a fresh device reboot. No luck. I'm on an iPod Touch 4g, running 4.2.1.

    When will Dinoman Bruiser be available? Will there be other heroes/monster heroes in the making and will they also be iap per characters?


    I hope the next update can get expedited so we get it sooner. I really want to test my luck going the distance with the new monster heroes. I really like the idea of you guys making them playable characters with there own skills. It really adds a lot more life and depth to the game.

    I am positively LIVID to see the Rogue-Bot not working. I can forgive Apple not testing the game past level 2, but for an IAP to not get a single extra touch to see that people's money isn't wasted is not forgivable in my opinion.

    I at least have the excuse of being unable to go back and test what I send to Apple (final builds cannot be installed on test devices).

    We are owed an expedited update, in my opinion, and I will do everything in my power to make it happen.

    But yes! Designs exist for many, many more player characters inspired by / expanded from existing monster classes. Where not too art-heavy (as would be the Dinoman), we will be adding these classes in the coming months, some for free, some as IAPs. As soon as we are able to contract our artist for the work, we will be implementing the Dinoman.

    Well, it may just be that I am running an old iOS version. Let's see if other people running 4.3.2 have the same issue. Thanks for the fast reply though!
