Hey hey - we're first listed on GAMEPRO's top 36 games! Hooray! http://www.gamepro.com/article/features/212835/36-best-iphone-games/
It doesn't look like anyone has said anything, but the new class is now available. That is to say, I just bought her and am starting the dungeon.
Ok, just finished my first (actually second) game with the Skellyman and beat Satan! Yay!! It is really fun to play... great class that is really distinct and requires different gameplay strategy. I was lucky with items (Chain +3, lots of Unholy fires etc.) though. I encountered some bugs (v 2.3) - the game was still jerky at times (especially after beating the bosses) on my non-JB iphone 4 - I could not use the smoke bomb. I always saw the animation of the throwing but the smoke did not show up - Same with energy potions. I could throw them but they didn't enflict any damage - the game crashed once in Hell 1 - after(!) beating the boss of the dungeon world, two sceletons resurrected and three mages were still on their cornes alive. - The Genie gave me like 10(?) energy and healing potions each even though there were only 2 each on the floor. This bug has been reported before but I never had encounted it before this last game (v 2.3) - The semi transparent map is barely readable @ Hell levels as it is not contrasty enough. - the new sleep arrows didn't have any price at the shop (I could buy them and gold was deducted but I couldn't see how much they were before buying them) Still, it was alot of fun. I liked the new objects like presents or the devil sword(?) too. And it is a good thing that Satan is worth a good amount of score now (160k).
Just to verify I manually quit 100R from the task bar, restarted my device and started a new game with the Skelly. Bombs still aren't working. Same with throwing energy potions at enemies. They simply don't inflict any damage. As I know that the bombs were working in version 2.2, it might be a good idea NOT to update at this point in time.
I installed the update and paid for the new IAP. The maps are now a mess. You can't see them and they don't track correctly, they're all over the place. Its difficult to recognize here you have or have not already gone, and that is unacceptable in a game that punishes you with hungar. You can't afford to waste your time and energy retracing through areas because your map doesn't accurately identify where you've already been. And if you exit a level, with the map on, the titling doesn't disappear. And yes, throwing smoke bombs and potions doesn't work. How can you be asking people to pay for a new character when it's first skill doesn't even work? So, in the end, honestly, I don't care about the $0.99 that I spent, that's trivial to me. But after all the bugs you've continued to insert into your games, all the missteps you've made trying to figure out how to make more money, you guys should be really embarrassed and ashamed of this extremely poor IAP/update.
I quite like the Skellyman class, although it is quite an embarrassment that, when the IAP is finally available the update is too, and the update screws up the Skellyman's smoke bombs (and thrown potions) (it was working before the update). I also like having the map as an overlay, but perhaps it would be a better idea to switch between the regular static map and a transparent overlay. New loading screens look great too.
