I personally can't say yet. Pricing is a decision that will need to be made by the entire team when the time is right. I will push to announce the decision, either way, sooner, though.
This is a good idea as I think that the "irritation" mostly stems from the "surprise" that this new class is IAP. This should have been communicated earlier... maybe even explaining the reasons for this move (supporting future updates, keeping the game alive, no in-game ads, the need for real life food etc etc)... Of course, there'll be always some who will never accept to pay anything addionally. You have to live with that then I am fine with this IAP though as I like to support the game in its current state. I was very vocal about the issues with the game in the past but I think we have a very good and stable game now... so, why not support the devs with a single dollar for their constant updates for this game?!
I can't download the IAP, says can not retrieve class from app store please check your Internet connection and try again.....
I am very surprised the App made it through review before the IAP. Apple is excessively clear they reject if it is not completely certain that IAPs can be carried out. We learned this early in development testing a submission of a free lite version w/paid upgrade. (an idea we've since abandoned, obviously)
Yep, that's still the plan. It's also still the plan that one of his abilities will be to turn into an honest-to-God dinosaur.
I sincerely hope she becomes available tonight, but it's after Apple's west-coast closing hours, so it's not likely, I'm afraid.
I'm fairly appalled to see so many people griping about $0.99 IAP. Developers have every right to make an income on their work, and 100 Rogues has seen more free content updates than nearly any other game on my iPhone (and I have far too many games on my iPhone). The Hell update was huge, and FREE. I would have been more than happy to pay for that as well, and I think the developer could easily have justified making that content IAP. But they didn't. It's $0.99. Get over it, and don't chafe their bottoms being a cheapskate about it. If you bought in at the original $4.99 price point, then you've likely gotten your money's worth out of the game by now, or you wouldn't still be trolling this thread. If you're new to the game, then you're buying it on the cheap even after purchasing the IAP, still paying less than early adopters. Rather than complaining, you should be praising the developers for their continued dedication to the product. And if you've no praise to spare (shame on you), then you should at least respect the fact that game developers have overhead and like to keep food on their plates. Similar IAP costs anywhere from three to ten times as much on the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live. Almost as shocking as your collective whining is the fact that App Store content continues to be as cheap as it is; it constantly amazes me that developers can have any kind of bottom line at all. The other thing that amazes me is the number of developers who continue to participate in these forums despite the berating they receive here. I sure as hell wouldn't come in here at every release to receive the beating you all dish out. Grow up. You're embarrassing yourselves, and giving gamers a bad name in general. Happy to pay for IAP guys. Keep it coming. I like to see the game growing, and have no qualms supporting your work.
That wall-of-text-its-only-a-dollar-defense rant is totally uncalled for. There's hardly any complaining of price in here and that isn't the issue. The only complaining with the IAP in this thread is that we knew the Skellyman was coming, but it has never before been stated that the Skellyman would be an IAP, and some feel that this last minute decision was somewhat dishonest. Additionally, while many do find the dev's dedication to this game amiable, there's no hiding the huge amount of technical flaws an bugs in the game. Some may take issue to the fact that a (formerly) $6 game that is still filled with problems is now charging for IAPs (this issue was addressed to by Wes above). There's hardly any complaining about the price, the big issue is that we are unable to purchase it right now and there's nothing we can do about it. So please, save your big guns for when there actually is a sea of complaining cheapskates in the thread. Oh and PSN and XBL are generally a totally different caliber to the appstore, so a price difference is expected. Please don't use that argument.
Any plans for more rogues after that? I mean, this is 100 Rogues after all... still room for 96 more!
I've been lurking in this thread for quite a long time. It's not the reaction to this one update that has me bothered. It's the self-entitlement that most of the users in this forum exhibit on a daily basis. It's the reaction to every update. And at this point, the game has a few minor issues; it's no longer filled of problems. And while there is no denying that 100 Rogues has been flawed from the start, what is often denied is the fact that we have here a very small development team having released for their first game ever an extremely ambitious, AAA title, having invested an immense amount of dedication, having owned up to their mistakes, having worked ceasely to correct their mistakes, having delivered far more content than was ever promised. And people here are going to gripe they weren't given adequate notice of IAP? That. Is. Hilarious. But it doesn't matter what I think, because people here will go on being self-entitled and infuriating. This is my second and final post to these forums. I'm sure no one cares either way. I just wanted to point out that the lot of you need to step back and get some PERSPECTIVE. Seriously? There are way more quality and truly ambitious titles in the app store at this point than on those services combined. Granted they have a few stellar titles, but most of it is slush. So please, YOU don't use that argument.
That's a rather feeble claim. I entirely concede to the point on ambition, but quality is a very subjective thing. What I meant was that XBL and PSN have different standards in terms of polish and funding than the Appstore. While the Appstore certainly has its praiseworthy titles that can rival that of any platform, it also has far, far more absolute garbage due to being more saturated. Anyway, if they do intend to add more than 4 classes, they'd have to totally change the character select screen, at least bring the profiles down a bit to fit a new row.
tried new update and animation is even more jerky than in the previous update. there are even some kind of frameskips during the movement. however that was different few updates back, the game was smooth enough to enjoy it.
