I didn't just run into a bug. Bugs in my book mean dropping 1 star. This would include crashes and glitches (which have also been happening a lot with this game). looking through this thread and other reviews I can see I'm not the only one affected. I ran into a game ending bug. Through no fault of my own i had to trash my progress in the game and restart. Then i would have to avoid teleporting (and possibly dying easily) or stop playing the game until a patch might be released. For a game I paid for; not a freebie or beta version. I posted here because devs in general (not necessarily this one) often say they cannot respond to reviews in iTunes. I have also said I will rereview with a higher score if the bugs are fixed. Right now I honestly feel that this game has the potential to be 4 stars but is currently 2 stars. If that puts people off buying the game right now then that's probably fair. That's not childish. Thats the Market. Also with Apple failing to offer refunds it's the only action I can take.
The game crashed on me while I was moving stuff in and out of the blue chest. I also had items disapearing on me by stacking them on top of each other in the blue chest, once I exited the menus, it was back to normal. Also some of the items are off-centered in the menus, the whole thing isn't working too well. I suggest playing around with the menus/blue chest and you should see what I mean. Also, are some enemies invisible? I keep running into invisible guys that look like they are wearing white underwear, from what I can see when they die, is that normal? Thanks.
Yes, that is normal. Those are so called "Unseeable" monsters. Previously they were completely invisible, now they drop a corpse wearing pant only I think that monster is awesome! Edit: @ Keith, I just managed to get to Satan with my Crusader. I was killed because of lack of any ability to heal up, but I achieved a new high score because I got stuck killing those agents. Since they are unkillable (they keep on calling reinforcements) I rushed for stairs to get Satan only to be welcomed by new Satan which is really dangerous. Hell yeah, my 1st Crusader that is on online highscore boards! With around 300k points, though I still don't get what do people do to get 3 million points ... Sit on Dungeon 4 and farm all day?! I think that's not the way players should achieve high scores
This is why I wish the highscore somehow factored in turns taken into the score or at least had measures to discourage camping on a level too long (what I would have assumed the food was for).
The only time I made it to satan with the crusader (out of at least 40 or so tries) is when I received 35 heal potions during the genie fight when two heart beetles spawned and when they drop potions after the genie dies they leave tons of heal or mana potions...and I was well on my way to killing satan but instead of clicking a potion when I needed to I hit a scroll of resistance by mistake But with that being said, it should not take what I assume is a bug on the genie level for the crusader to make it down to the last lvl says something about the overall balance I guess?
As I said before, the crusader is easier at first stages and tougher on the later ones IMO. Vice versa for the Fairy. And the crusader is more dependent on finding good items (weapon, armor!) than the fairy, which is pretty self reliant later on. If this is as intendent, i don't know... only the devs can tell
The problem isn't the food-- it's that if you farm health potions from the genie, you can effectively boost your HP so that the regen beats the HP loss from starvation.
Found a new(or new to me) that I wanted to share, In hell 1 using Martyrin' anytime I reflected a dodgeball it insta crashed me to the home screen, and brought me back to the lvl start, loading a whole new unexplored lvl but maintaining items an xp from the previous run...thought that this could potentially be used to exploit and farm the Lvl in addition to being a normal crash big?
Don't ask me why, but the Bully's "HAHA!" quotes are trying to explode when that happens. And they do, just not in the way they aren't supposed to, but in a way they *really* aren't supposed to. Really, don't ask.
Yup, that's about right. As for farming, yeah, we're really not sure how people manage scores like 3 million+. Looking into some solutions now. One solution may be to have, after a level has been cleared, the monsters who appear start to increase in difficulty (HP/Damage) but do not give extra EXP, they still give their normal amount of exp. If anyone knows how someone can manage a score like that, let us know. -Keith
Why not go the way of Evil Otto from Berserk or at least have vastly out of level baddies start roaming around on a level once a player has overstayed his welcome...although if the player is tough enough to kill Satan where do you go from there? There is also the rule of "Diminishing Returns" where once a character out levels the beasties of a given level enough they no longer give any experience.
No... you are way off. In fact, if you were deeply religious I could see you actually taking offense at the light hearted comical references in the game.
I have returned to this game after a a long wait, to see what the new update brings. Skeletons have turned into motionless garbled sprites. Started a new game. Picked up +1 axe. Tried to equip it. Game crashed. Fantastic. Still, I look forward to the Skellyman update to bring a new playing style to the game.
Under the Prefs menu, is there a way to get Effects to stay as High so you don't have to set it each time?
