Got this early this morning and have had only a little go. I'm a big rogue fan, with the pinnacle of all rogues being Nethack in my very humble opinion - even though I haven't ever once managed to ascend. Loving the excellent Sword Of Fargoal too. So it's interesting to see how this all-new roguelike plays.

And, so far, it seems to play brilliantly. I love the feel and the animation. The point mechanic (which I was unsure about when I saw the videos) works really well. And all signs point to this being a great new rogue.

With the update for Fargoal being released just hours before and the news that Badman 2 has hit PSP, it's a busy time for games but I'm hoping to spend as much as I can with 100 Rogues. Looking forward to seeing the bugs ironed out and the game develop.

I just had to register to TA forums to thank you for the great game, as well as report one bug which crashed my game :)

I had two stacks of arrows in my inventory, the other one being 2 arrows and the other one being 4 arrows. I added the 4 arrow stack in my quick bar and then the 2 arrow stack. They merged to one stack of 6 arrows, but in my inventory there was now an empty place with number 2 next to it. I touched it and the game crashed.

Afterwards I was unable to use continue as the game crashed every time after it had finished loading levels and monsters and etc. Starting a new game worked, though!

I never played Nethack on PC, but only just got into it with iNethack (which is free for anyone interested) and I love it too. Ridiculous deaths abound.

:D I guess that's what some people would call, "stating the obvious." :D

Hmm. Maybe one of you owes money to the Russian mob or something? Those dudes are not patient when it comes to bug fixes! :p

    Suggestions for devs...

After playing a bit, wow, great game! But I have some suggestions to make it even better. Mostly they're from Sword of Fargoal, which does so much right...

    1) Add the control scheme from SoF, where you can basically use swipes as a pseudo dpad anywhere you want, and/or can point to a visible spot and automatically go there. The current scheme in 100 Rogues is OK, but sometimes my fingers get in the way, and it gets awkward. The SoF scheme really alleviates that issue.

    2) Add a pinch to zoom feature! The sprites and animations are really cool, and it would be great to be able to zoom in and out. Yes, another feature from SoF. :D

    3) This suggestion may prove unpopular, but I wish there was more shading in the dungeon graphics tiles. I will admit that once again I have SoF on the brain, with its gorgeous shaded colors in dungeons (and the cool 3D walls effect). I don't expect this suggestion to happen, but yeah, I love rich color.

Anyway, good luck fixing the bugs, and hope you will find time in the future to keep making this fine game even better and better! It deserves it. Definitely one of the best new games in a while.

Something, I also was immediately trying after starting my first game.
Since the sprites are cool I wanted to see them better.

Seeing as the dungeon floors arent huge, zooming out would ruin the exploratory feel and zooming in wouldnt really add any gameplay advantage (in SoF it helps with traps & secret doors), just eyecandy.

While the invisible d-pad swiping works well with SoF's realtime-ness but I find the point to move/bash/shoot suits 100 Rogues' turn based system... it prevents me from doing anything too stupid that I cant take back. I'm getting used to it and end up doing my "one hand x axis, one hand for y axis" that I use in SoF anyway. And that last sentence sounds really bad ...

Strangely enough, it isnt crashing as much as earlier today. Sure, it still goes down a bit and I lose a few high scores here & there, but it is still a playable release! I'm prefering the wizard: Tele-stabbing with a vampire dagger and aura siphon = kick-ass fairy! God is also very awesome (didn't think I would ever say that )

I hope the disgruntled folk come back eventually. Sending out positive vibes to the Dinofarms crew!

    Me too!

So far, love this game - though it's crashed on me twice and lost my character as a result. Not sure about whether I'm going to play much more on this until the bugs are resolved though - it's really disheartening to start building up a character only to have him completely zapped via a game crash...

When it's cleaned up and working smoothly this is going to be a major title - it's really nicely done and the playability is immense.

Has anyone found a shop that's actually open btw?! They're all closed for me so far...

Oh and how do you get rid of stuff from your inventory? 'Throw' doesn't seem to do anything... I have a full inventory and can't get rid of the junk to make way for the better stuff - anyone?

    Cheers,

    Jamie.

Shops will be in a future update, which will include 2 more classes and 2 more worlds.

To drop inventory, just drag it out of the menu to the sides, top or bottom.

Edit: Weeee! Highest scoring wizard (for now) :D

    Hi Jamie,

I think the shop always closed. Because you never got any money.
For the throw item, I think you need to press a direction after you click on the throw button. I have too less to throw. Will try it soon. :D

Am I the only one who is having trouble moving towards enemies on accident with the wizard when I attack?

SFX/Music volume sliders don't seem to save when changed and quitting the app, in fact they also seem to jump about randomly from default position each time I open it.

Looks like this is a great little game totally ruined by bugs. A shame that...

Purchased, hopefully the bugs won't impact my game too much. Looks to be a fun, good looking game. Hopefully the update will come out soon.

    Congrats to the devs.

I was really looking forward to this game, but in this state it is absolutely unplayable.

The game crashes every five minutes or so, deleting every progress made. I haven´t had any shields equipped, so that can´t be the problem.

Also I stumbled right in the beginning of the game into a room full of treasure chests, at least 10 or 15. Don´t know if this was a bug or just pure luck. Sadly the game crashed right after that, so all my loot was gone.

Hopefully the update will be out soon, cause right now I have to tell everyone to stay away from this game at the moment.

I have a iPod Touch 3. gen with latest firmware and have restarted my device before playing.

Wow, what a disappointment reading the impressions both here and other sites.
Was really looking forward to this as well.
Will wait for the inevitable price drop before buying.

yep, game crashes even without equipped shields. what should be definitely improved is the speed of movement and maybe battle animations, it's a little bit slow and therefore gameplay is also slow, in comparisson to sword of fargoal or inethack.

It really seems strange how some people are having this kind of intense issues while others are not. I'm on a 3rd gen Touch as well, also with latest firmware. Played through three games so far, around two hours game time in total, and not a single crash.

Have had a number of other issues including the easily repeatable one of the game thinking you have a game in progress (and offering a "continue" button) after you play one of the challenges, but not a single crash.

Has anyone else at all NOT had any crash issues? Just wondering. Normally a widespread problem is likely to be related to a particular device gen or configuration, but apparently not in this case. Very strange.
