It all comes down to the basic rule of thumb, "If a game actually gave you all you wanted it would no longer be fun." Good game design is all about teasing the player in an enjoyable manner.
See the game designer corollary: "As a game adopts more and more features the designer thinks are awesome, it eventually approaches Dwarf Fortress"
you know what would be a cool use of extra gear? having a vault or something you stumble across every once in a while, much like the shop, and you can just drop your old gear in there. it could keep tabs on how much you've added to the vault over all your play-throughs. this could either be just for kicks, work towards achievements or maybe work towards something cool, like increasing the chance to find a nice treasure. or maaaybe if you hit a certain ridiculous amount you get to start a game with uber gear just for fun and because by that point you deserve a cheat play through just to keep you entertained.
You do realize that there is a locker in this game that does almost everything you say? Doesn't appear much right now... but will once a game after the dungeon boss in the next patch.
the locker is way differnt. it lets you store something for later. what im suggesting is that you recycle old useless gear. for example, over the course of 10 play-throughs you could amass 75 useless junk items in the recyling bin thing. then on your next play through you've earned an extra potion to start with, or something.
You don't even want to know why that's happening. That video will be an external link to a proper orientation of the video in the next version.
Got the game. Wow.. I thought it'd be pretty much solid at this point but no-go. Full of bugs still. I can't even finish a game without it crashing several times. What on earth have you guys been up to?? Is it such a bad code from the start or what? How on earth can something be this ridiculously buggy. Here's what I've found so far and I've only played maybe an hour or so. - Crashes, apparently random. - the Genie boss level, crashes after I try to go down the stairs to the next and when I restart.. same thing happens again. - Can not quit to the menu/iOS.. doesn't save progress properly. It only saves it partially. Seemingly random how and where it saves. On the Genie level I had to RESTART the level once.. then I tried again to quit, just to see what happens. This time it did remember where my character was positioned but the damn Urn the genie uses to heal itself is not destroyed any more! What a mess.. I really did not look forward to being a beta tester but damn it.. guess I have to. I really want the game to function as it does seem like an excellent game. Please, developers, hire some extra help with the code or something. It can not possibly be this buggy so many months after release!!!! This will destroy you if you do not get the code clean. There is no way in hell I ever purchase anything else from you guys until I can be sure the product actually works. Specs: iPhone 3GS 16gb running iOS 4.1 - bManic
Well I picked up the game a few days ago, right before the sale, figures. Anyway, great game, just wanted to report a few bugs since the dev seems to hang around here. First, the game crashed on me the first time I died, it was while I was trying to kill the second boss, so my score did not register and there was no game to reload. Second, at one point the enemies became invisible, had to reload the game and it was ok then. I just started paying attention to this game and what I get from it is that there's a few bugs to take care of. The additional content and patches are great but I recommend to the dev to take care of these problems before adding more content. I rather drive a Toyota that works than a Ferrari with a busted motor. Thanks, I'm really enjoying the game otherwise.
I must have an Angel on my shoulder, because this stuff never happens to me. I can't even remember a full on crash. I really can't.
did you try restarting your iphone? I had some problems initially as well, but after restarting (and after the 2.0 upgrade), I have very few problems now.
I have no idea why but there seems to be invisible buttons on the main menu that closes the game and opens safari or youtube with no warning whatsoever. The Menu and Map Buttons are still terribly placed. The Map button should be in the top left corner to make it easily accessible and the HP/MP bar area should open the Menu. Other than that it's clear the game is running much faster while being half the file size! I'm very impressed
Just played update. I think this release is the smoothest I have ever seen 100 Rogues run and I have been playing since release. Good work. ( I miss the old icon!!! )
