It sounds like you've completely misinterpreted what he meant. The point is that lotteries DO require a purchase, and that other contests must provide a method of free entry to avoid being classed as a lottery; as lotteries are generally illegal to run. That's what you get for staying in school!
I'm geussing it will happen around 11PM PST Jan 21st. I checked the counts and basically 30 million apps are downloaded every 24 hours.
Wow I remember the last time they did this for was it 10,000,000 apps downloaded or something? Dang, the things I could buy with 10,000 bucks of credit!
Don't forget it really speeds up closer the finishing point. Although ifyour theory is right, it will be about 1am in UK and I'll be sleeping! Even though i probably have a zero chance of winning!
My guess is at 4 AM. Everyone needs to get ready and I'm sure the accuracy isn't right so start downloading early. Good luck.
You know, when you think about the number 10 billion, it's pretty crazy. That's more downloaded apps than people in the world, and though this is just a random guess, I'm thinking about .01% of the people in the world own an Apple product. If we assume a world population of 6.8 billion as of tonight, that means, by my (educated) guess, that 68 million people in the world own an Apple device (that seems WAY too high, but we'll go with it). 68 million people, downloading 10 billion apps. That's 147 apps downloaded per person! Wow that seems like a lot. Apple has done pretty well for itself
