Well is there a price yet? I for one really want this but have been hit by so many app sales lately I'm happy to wait for the inevitable 59p drop. For one I just bought order an chaos then days later it's 59p. Nearly every damn game I buy either goes down to 59p or free within a week of me buying it. So from now on i have so many games backed up to play it's easy to wait for a sale. It's not being cheap it's just common sense why Pay full price when you know everything will be 59p soon enough.

    Looks great, as expected

Can't wait for this! Nice trailer!

And correct me if I'm wrong, but the launch price is $1.99. I'm sure it will drop to 99 cents sooner or later, and sometimes I can wait, but this one looks like an instabuy to me.

Correct, 1-bit Ninja will cost $1.99. I have no plans at this time for a 99c sale.

I've been thinking the same thing. It seems accessible to a broad audience with it's obviously likely appeal to nostalgic handheld gamers and the variety of modern bells and whistles that make it truly fresh. It's also going to be compatible with "legacy" devices, which broadens the pool of potential buyers (it will find a happy home on my 2g). I hope this is a monstrous success. There are probably a lot of people who have been checking the app store every week since last month, filled with the faint hope that it might make a surprise appearance. I'm psyched it's finally upon us.

    Devs,

I'm realllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyy anticipating this game, but you said you'd do a specific iPad version...

So, I guess universal is out of the question...

How long, if any guesstimate is plausible, do you think the iPad version will take to arrive?

Kind of bummed. I could double dip, but I've refused to do it for most games.

    Matter of principle.

Anyhow, any iPad info is appreciated :D

    awesome, awesome and...awesome!!
the gameplay is just incredibly involving! and I collect those days with Super Mario, should I expect some little tricks here, say, hidden bonus like magical mushrooms?

That's great to hear! I hope you enjoy it.

I want to make the iPad version a completely new game tailored to that screen size so it's a big undertaking and will not be available any time soon. With that said, there is a definite chance that I may add basic universal support to 1-bit Ninja at some point if only to use the full iPad resolution in-game. I don't like the idea of charging people extra simply for an upscaled iPhone version so rest assured that if/when "1-bit Ninja HD" arrives it will be it's own game in and of itself.

There are several easter eggs hidden away in 1-bit Ninja. There is one powerup, the Ninja potion, that drastically increases your speed, jumping ability and makes you temporarily invincible. With the more puzzle focused nature of the level design, the Ninja potion can be used to reach certain hidden areas.

How dies it control again, touch one side of the screen to move, the other side to jump? I am really excited for this, and I now begin the search for one of those cheap read and blue glasses.

Yup! Left side of the screen is run and right side of the screen is jump, you can also flip them in the options if you're left handed.
There are a ton of cheap movies out there that come with the old style 3D glasses - I got Shrek 3D for under 10 bucks and it came with 4 pairs of red/cyan and 4 pairs of purple/green glasses!! There are also a bunch of sites online that you can order them from individually I believe.

Yes indeed! When you collect all 5 big bits in a level you'll unlock the option of either perspective 3D camera or red/cyan glasses 3D, both can be chosen from the pause screen. Check the end of the latest trailer for a few clips of the 3D glasses mode. :)

*Unfortunately 3D glasses mode will not be available if you're playing on a 3G or lower device as everything has to be rendered twice a frame and those older devices just can't hack it.
