PopCap started it! When they dropped Peggle down to a buck it shot up to #1 in the app store so quick everyone else started doing it. But now it's happened so much people are just expecting everything to be $.99 eventually. I know I am
This is what is happening (at least, happened to me) I dont have problem in paying premium prices for premium games, or paying 2.99 dls for a good game, I did so, I payed the full price of some games, but what really pissed me off is that the next day the game I bought for 4.99 is now 0.99, and with that four dollars I could buy more games. The matter isn't the money ( for me) are the price drops, I feel so bad when I buy a game and next day is 0.99. Apple shouldn't allow price drop, unless after the app has been in the app store a while, like a year or so
same here. i payed for both mystique chapters and a week after, they became free. but i guess that is our own fault if we get it at a higher price. if you want to get it cheap, then wait a couple months to get it.
Yeah, you are right. Just some people complains about or think that if we just are waiting for sales, Devs won't upgrade or make better games. You and I bought them at full prices, so we support them and hope they will improve it, right?, so it seems that they dont need to drop prices, if the game is good, it will recieve it deserved spotlight, how?, like here, in TA forums, where I found Eliss, Defender Chronicles and other games. Bought them at full prices, but then they had a sale. Out of the subjet but that sh***t of "in-game app purchase" or wathever is called is a let down from apple and devs who use it. they said free updates, thats why they put premium prices and I pay premium prices.
The only game I want for $0.99 that will probably drop is The Oregon Trail I paid full price ($3-10) for about 10 games that later became 1 or 2 dollars. But they were worth it.
Actually no the in game app purchase is a good idea because it allows things that are just not financially feasible under a one time purchase scheme. Take multiplayer for instance in order to be long term feasible someone has to pay for the servers and bandwidth. A one time sale of a buck just does not make it possible to support a multiplayer without it.
