http://howtomakeaniphoneappbook.com/ it has a lot of good information for a beginner but no OpenGL es (yet at least) he updates the book occasionally.
From what I have read, that is for Xcode development, I am using Unity, so it is a whole different ball game. Open GL is a lot more complicated than Obj C, Obj C is a better language to start with Well, I might add an option if anything thinks that it is important. Ha ha, that would be quite difficult to do No zombies, sorry Good! Glad I chose OpenFeint! A car skin of a skateboard? Well, I don't know how to do that in Unity per say. I will look into changing the textures though, a lot people may prefer to have multiple "skins"... I currently am not aware of a way to do it, but I will most definitely look into it I am currently using Unity 3D with Javascript (I switched over a month or two ago), but when I did use Xcode, I learned from a website that is not around anymore. There a YouTube channel called SimpleSDK that shows you the basics (although the guy does make a fair amount of errors). Maybe it was just me, but when I started learning from the tutorials, I got the idea that the { and } had to be double spaced EVERY time otherwise the App wouldn't compile. Of course that isn't true
Oh, my bad I was wondering why he was talking about a signature suggesting learning Obj C! The price hasn't been decided yet, but I am leaning towards $2.99 with no plans of a sale (do I detect sarcasm?).
Like I said, it isn't final, I am just leaning towards. As you may know from PapiPole, one swipe of the finger can make me start leaning the other way -There are going to be 3 modes, Free Roam, Time Attack 2 min., and Time Attack 4 min. -OpenFeint achievements and online leaderboards. -Huge, openworld, 3D city filled with jumps, buildings, and ramps. -I am working on a campaign type thing for the Free Roam mode (which I may rename). Should the jumps that you have to find (aka: campaign type thing) be only in the Free Roam mode or in the Time Attack modes too? The jumps will physically be in the Time Attack modes, but you won't be able to "find" or "unlock" the jump unless you are in Free Roam.
Make it free roam. People will probably play it more then. I like aimlessly roaming a city but having achiements involved would make it even better.
Ok, can do. The "Mega Jumps" will be spinning (only in Free Roam) and once you find them they stop spinning, cool? And I will add achievements for when you get 1/4, 2/4, 3/4/, and all of the Mega Jumps. How many mega jumps should I have? I was thinking 10-20, how does that sound? You got it! Both the Time Attack modes also have their own online leaderboards, so you can compete with your friends (or your enemies I guess )!
Yes what do you mean by spinning and sounds great. There should also be some locations to find for achivements.
By spinning I mean, uhh, spinning! The ramp is literally spinning like a tire until you find it. That way you can know that it is a Mega Jump and you can distinguish between the jumps that you have/haven't found. Hmm, I currently I am going to have achievements for points, jumps, and some secret things... See above for spinning. Great! I will work on that

I just made a poll for the price of Empty City 3D. I know that most of you would prefer to pay $.99, but I want honest opinions of what you would feel comfortable paying. I personally feel that Empty City 3D is worth more than $.99, but I am getting to actually play the game (plus, I am a bit biassed). It may be tough to just from the screenshots that I have released, so you may want to wait, so that you get a better feel for the game Merry Christmas! Robert CEO, App Tech Studios
1.99 seems right I mean your game will have a few modes plus a lot of land. Should kill at least a few hours.
I am guessing that it will take an hour or so to find all of the jumps (although I could be all wet). The achievements, on the other hand, could take awhile. Also, if people start getting competitive on the online leaderboards, that would definitely add to the fun and replay value
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am working on implementing the new OpenFeint (2.4). The UI is redesigned to look "like Xbox live". Merry Christmas!
