The original on C64 was also called Giana Sisters (by accident, but the cover had Gianna Sisters on it). But that's a different story... ;)
From the screenshot it looks exactly like the C64 version! What about the sound? Is it the famous soundtrack by Chris Hülsbeck? But 248 MB!?...
Well... It's the same art style, but a completely different game, isn't it? And I don't think an art style is protected by Copyright...
