If I get this now with a Canadian account when it gets released in the uk and I want to buy dlc will I have to download again and loose my save data?

You miss the point of it being a free game. The reason it is free is so they can make more money of dlc.
Is there a race mode? Or is it just a game where you rack up points?
I'd say it averages 3hrs for my 3rd gen. Derek you would need to shake the iPod touch a hell of alot to be able to run it :P
