The devs have continuously stated that they plan to add content to this for a long time. I don't see how a sale could factor into their production...
I would go for it. Its not going on sale for a long long time apprently, becuase it is constantly going to be updated and more stuff added....
Its not popping up in updates for me, but if you go to the game on the app store it should say updated today and just re download it.
