You can upgrade the mines to the point it cost 15 the 50 and so forth. You don't have to level the mine at first but I do and then place archers...

It doesn't really have a story it has a couple lines each level but once you play the game itself with all the action then you will like it.
There is a single player campaign plus co-op plus a endless mode and tons more coming in the update.

Use the knight if your just starting he has offensive skills plus good defensive while the other two go one or another(at least to me they do)
No I think its just walls. Upgrade keep and walls first though. After that the mine as it cuts the cost of how much you need to raise it a level
