Merge glitch is only for items you can see aesthetically, so weapons, armor, and vanity armors. Rings and potions don't work unfortunately....
Try equipping both and then removing both? that might reset them.
adds energy regen/second. so for a 2.14/s gem, that means it restores 2.14 energy/second (plus whatever your usual energy regen is)
