No problem. So open menu you will see the save button click it and save in a slot
Press Y when over the same you see at the bottoms of the options the same game click on it and save to one of the available slots
The way I did it is go directional hold b down and press the arrow once pause for a few seconds and repeat until you head downstairs. I caved...
